Winn Grips

Was considering re-gripping with a Winn grip but have heard a couple folks here and there say they arent all that durable. Never had them to be honest. I am looking at the ones that are of the tacky material (if that makes sense). Winn has a grip that looks like the universal Callaway grip.

Was just wondering if anyones has played or currently plays Winn and what your thoughts are.

I am open to suggestions on other brands, etc....

I like the grips that have some sort of alignment on them, I like them to be honest.

I looked hard at Winns the last three times I had a grip put on, but I always go back to Crosslines or the halfcord Golfpride... just a feel thing. Winns feel kind of plasticky to me, probably all subjective.

My irons are all gripped with red and black Golfpride halfcords, tacky and soft and very nice, and my woods have the white Lamkin crossline... just good feeling grips.

winn grips get slick too fast for me. i am interested in trying their cord model in my driver to see if its any good.

Winn grip or any other softer grips behave the same way. It's the nature of polymer. When it's soft, it's tacky and not as tough , i.e. wear out faster. The same reason why some brake pads are worn faster, i.e. they are softer so they provide excellent brake performance, but the trade off is that it WILL wear out faster... so pick your battle.

I had a club that came with a Winn and it felt plasticy for me as well. I don't play with a glove nor do my hands sweat when I golf so the stock Tileist/GP cord grips work perfectly.

The new Winn PCI lineup of grips are greatly improved over their old stuff. Much firmer & should last a long time, also look great.

Winn grips are pieces of sh1t. Thread closed.

Nothing beats the Golf Pride Tour Velvets.

Golf pride are certainly nice grips, but expand your horizons & give the new Winn PCI's a try. I think if you are honest & open minded you will be suprised.

My grips are still working fine after almost 2 years. I play in Oregon and it rains plenty here if you haven't heard.

I think mine are AVI 7's or something like that.

I put the winn g8's on last year and they did not hold up very well at all. Just put the lampkin crosslines on again they do hold up for a full season. The winns only made it about half a season.

I bought 60 sharpro dual compound cords from The FOOL, aka Lyle.

Get those.

Winn suck when they are wet. - and never seem to fully dry.
They also feel like **** when they are dry.

I had all my clubs regripped with Golf Pride New Decade MCC (Green) about mid August last year and I played the rest of the golf season with them (mid October) so probably 40ish rounds found the green part of the grips say got pretty slippery on my driver and 56*wedge, which is really only expected since there probably the 2 most played clubs besides the putter, they are defentley still playable though. I picked up a few replacements this winter at Golf Works, they were only $6.95 each, I didn't think that was bad considering there like $12 at Golf Town
