    High MOI putters
Being near the end of the golfing season here decided my old putter sucks and starting to think of next year. Wondering what all you guys think of the new bigger mallets. Primarily, Taylormade spider, Nike ic 20 20, and the guerin rife hybrid mallet.

I don't like the Spider, too damn big. Try TM's Tourismo, it's like a mini spider. I really like the extra weight of it compared to a blade style. Plus you can put heavier weights in it to fit your style.

If you get a chance, demo a Heavy Putter. It's a love or hate thing. I love it.

TM does have a mini spider, its called the Itsy Bitsy Spider, its about the size of a two ball putter, im thinking about trying one out

Tried one at Golf Galaxy, holy crap did they ever get the name correct. Damn putter probably weighs more than 3 of my irons combined.

It may not be the best option for those who carry their bag, but I usually have mine on a push cart, so it's no big deal from a fatigue standpoint.

And what's the price of the Bitsy spider? The Tourismo can be picked up all day long for under $100, if the little spider is close to that then by all means give it a shot.

I like to think of putter options as face-balanced versus toe-hang putters as they correspond to the stroke applied. I use a face-balanced putter. I am currently using the Yes Tracy putter. In the past I had a Nike T100oz putter. Never had problems with the line but it seems like a high MOI putter with the weight being so far behind the face causes you to lose the feel for distance. I'd say you should test high MOI putters extensively on lag putts. I started a thread about this a month or so back called face balanced and the comments by HB or BJ really brought to mind all the problems I'd had but never really considered.

Read that thread that jesse had mentioned and it did make a lot of sense. Lag putting usually isn't too much of a problem, but when they get in close always seem to leave it short or push the ball. Face balanced sounds like that should help. Right now standing over the ball, I just don't have any faith in my putter (or my stroke). Just looking for something that I will have confidence in when I get closer to the hole. Should have plenty of time this winter to test a few out. Thanks

    Big Putters
I found that I putt much better with mallet putters than blades so I set about trying every mallet I could find. Then, I decided that I like mid-shaft putters. So, I finally bought the Ping G5i UG-LE and I love it. The lag issue on long putts is for real so you simply have to practice a lot, get a nice relationship going with your putter and have some guts on the first putt. My second choice was the Odyssey White Hot 2-ball SRT, not a mid-shaft. I also liked the Nike 20-20 and both the TM Tourismo and Monza Corsa. I agree with the post above that the Spider is just too dam big, too unwieldy.

Found the one I was looking for. Tried a bunch and have to say the rife tour hybrid felt the nicest. Standing looking down at it, I just have the feeling I can't miss with it. OH NO!! Deja vu. Thought the same thing about my ex the first time she was kneeling in front of me. Hope this works out a lot better than that.

Tried the Nike but didn't feel as comfortable as the rife. Golf Galaxy had the fifty dollar coupon so thought it would be time to use it. Now just have to wait for spring.
