Grooves on Ping S59's
I just would like to know if my Ping S59 tours are gonna be legal when the groove rule take effect. I also have the ping tour wedges not the real new ones. Also would like to know where I can find a list of what gonna be legal and not legal.

Here's the link http://www.usga.org/news/2008/August/grooves.html
Jan. 1, 2010 for all open and pga events
2014 for USGA amateur championships
Clubs manufactured prior to Jan. 1, 2010 that conform to current regulations will continue to be considered conforming to the USGA Rules of Golf until at least 2024.

So how do I find out if my CG12 and my X forged are legal of not?
-
Unless you are turning pro you have until 2014 at a minimum. Do you think you'll be buying new wedges before then?
I would go the other way and buy a couple of U groove wedges before they are illegal. I predict there just might be a run on the U grooves. I'm considering it.

Unless you are playing on a pro tour somewhere, why should this matter to anybody?
-
Hmmm... 2014 huh?
Ok thanks guys, maybe I'll read the thread more carefully next time.

Thats why I asked
In May we have US OPEN Qualifier then the other events i will be playing in is gonna be the Quad City Open, Cedar Rapids Open along with the Monday Qualifier for the John Deer Classic. I guess I will just talk to Ping!

Why not email USGA? They are setting the rules not Ping.

Well, then, you are likely the only guy on here that these rules will affect.
Anybody else going to be trying to qualify for the US Open and will need to conform to USGA rules?
Anybody?
Anybody?
Bueller . . . . . . ?
