Push Cart or Carry Bag?

Along with the Walk vs Cart discussion I'm sure this has been discussed plenty of times too but it's still interesting to hear others views. I have both but I use a carry bag about 75% of the time. It is just more convenient to throw it in the car and grab it at the other end and head straight to the 1st tee without having to setup a push cart. I also like the fact that you can walk anywhere whereas with a push cart (or trundler as we call it) you have to go around tee boxes, greens, barriers etc.

The only time I use the push cart is on big days when I know the play is going to be slow. On those days I like to have my push cart as it has a seat and I can sit and relax while waiting. Also it takes the weight off your shoulders.

At my club most golfers, say 75%, use trundlers, even the young guys, but this might be influenced by the club pro who reckons carrying is bad for your game as it causes your shoulders to tighten up. I disagree with this but wonder what others think?

i ride 90% of the time that i play because if you walk around here you'll get the phuck run over. when i do walk, it's at a local 9 holer. i carry my bag. using a push cart is a b.itchmove.

I'ma beeotch. I use a 3 wheel "trundle". I just like the fact that I'm not carrying my stuff, which I agree that it would ruin me after 12-15 holes at some of the courses I play. And also just being able to push the cart ahead of me and let me walk, freely swing my arms keeps me loose........ok ok I'll come clean!....I like the beer, I mean cup holder!!

Carry, drink whiskey. Have a push cart but haven't used it in years.

Not only am I a trundler, I'm an electric trundler. Damage to my back about 10 years ago makes carrying a risky prospect even with a light carry bag.

Most guys who use push carts wish they were in a riding cart, but they are too cheap to pay the extra money.

I can't say....it's a secret!

Push carts aren't allowed at any of the proper courses in my area. They bring an element of cheapness that is to be discouraged at prestigious tracks like the SPCC. I don't think I'd use one anyway, since they have old man written all over them. Push carts and telescoping ball retrievers go hand in hand on the b!tchmove scale.

Ya when the first came out that's all I saw were old folks using them now I see everyone using them.....Er that is, everyone except you and Edgey....:D

At close on 30$ a time I'm not surprised.

I ride most of the time, but when I walk I use a push cart (actually, I usually pull it). It's been years since I walked a course and carried my bag - I have back issues, and want to avoid making things worse, which would take the fun out of my round.

I always walk, unless it's a resort course and compulsory to ride. I have tried the push buggy, but I am now a devout carrier. Like Kiwi said, the convenience of being able to go anywhere with a carry bag can't be understated. I like to have the bag next to me on every shot and on every tee. I also like the extra exercise you get from carrying. It's been proven that weight bearing exercise like carrying a golf bag improves fitness, strength and increases bone density more than just walking.

A strange trend in Oz is for the younger juniors to put carry/stand bags on push carts. Not sure what the attraction is. When I used a push cart I had a big arse staff bag that could fit everything in. Putting a carry bag on a push cart seems to be defeat the purpose of both.

I have tried the carry bag. True enough it somehow had an influence on my posture at address or at least, I felt it. Now the carry bag is only for the range session. I do not deny the ease of using the carry bag anyway.

These days, I use trundler to carry my cart bag. Using motorized trundlers or push carts is somewhat feeble.
