These topics coming up really sicken me...
this is a golf forums... not to talk about your "paroles" and stuff.

This site has lost it's appeal, there's no staff to do anything about it.

Ok, let's get back to talking about how you hit your 5 iron 300 yards. Now that's golf!

For once, I find myself in agreement with 1 iron. For me, golf is more interesting than endless strife, name-calling, and insult hurling.

Bunker shots are really fun once you figure out what bounce is and how it works.
The really fun part is evaluating the type of sand your ball is in and then adjusting your clubface and loft in hopes of taking advantage of the consistency of the sand.

It feels like a million bucks when out of the cloud of sand pops your ball at the proper heighth/ trajectory.

The old advice to open way up and cut across the ball in a bunker tends to leave my ball too far left of the hole. I prefer to set up nearly square in the bunker, unless there is a giant lip. In the case of the giant lip, the exaggerated cut shot is yoru best play. Sometimes just being out of the bunker is enough.

balance is so very key in the bunker. It takes me longer than i wish it would to pull the trigger on a bunker shot, and this is due to getting my balance and making sure that my body is in a position that i can take the length of swing I need for the shot at hand without having to use any part of my body except shoulders, wrists, hands. A quiet body equals bunker success for me. i don't use my hands in a bunker shot other than to keep the toe of the club from passingover the heel. To somemone who releases the clubhead on all shots, forcing yourself not to release in a bunker is tough to get comfortable with.

I am glad my friends and playing partners are patient with me when I get bunkered. It kind of looks like I am laying an egg as I adjust my posture and feet for the shot. I appreciate their not laughing or pointing or making me too self conscious. I try to reward their patience by then hitting a quality shot.

I have alot of confidence in the sand.
Oddly i am incapable of hitting a proper lob shot.

Can you please fix the spelling errors on your footer. Why are you "hestatating" in doing so?

The old style aim-left, open-face method seems to be losing favor to the straight away 60* style, especially in firm bunkers (any pulic course). The traditional sand wedge is giving way a strong/weak 2-wedge combo, ie, 53/58 or 54/60.

1-iron's dad is banjolips.

This is a good reminder to get back on topic and 'stop the hate-n'.

We have banned trolls that post under 15 different names and keep starting flame wars. I'll do my best to keep this under control. But please be vigilant and let me know as they come back.

Also, a lot of folks are too quick to jump on flame wars. Some are fun, some get out of hand.

I don't know which Rodney he meant. It could have been a disrespected uncle in his family, for all I know.

But don't tell me that he drew the Rodney reference all the way up to Caddyshack. I will never believe it. The only time he probably ever has a golf club in his possession is when it is tucked vertically inside his Camelback Blowfish between the Cliffbars and spare tubes to protect from wild mountain lions.

1- I don't consider it that I 'buried myself", it's just that some don't see it concieveable to have a very above-average swing speed.

2- I can't hit a 300 5-iron unless I have some serious help from the wind... I normally hit it about 235-240

I once heard someone claim that the only thing that flies 300 yards is 1 Iron's fartbox after a punch between the legs.

We love you 1 iron, but you need to post your GHIN handicap or online handicap here. All sixteen year old golfers like you have their handicaps on the internet, and, when challenged, I have never seen one refuse to post it. Hey, where did the smilies go? We have no smilies now?
