To my ANZAC brothers
Happy ANZAC Day.
I hope you guys had a good day.
I was going to go to the dawn parade at 6am with my Dad and then play golf with him at 12pm but unfortunately my Mum (who has recently had surgery) wasn't well this morning so Dad didn't want to leave her on her own.
I went to the club and we observed a minutes silence in remembrance.
I remember spending ANZAC Day in Sydney a few years back and you guys really get into it in a bigger way then we do. On the night before EVERYBODY was out in uniform celebrating. A real show of national pride. Great to see.
All the best.

A heartfelt happy ANZAC day to all. I plan on celebrating like I always do. Drinking a dozen Fosters oil cans, putting on my snakeskin vest, and wrestling crocodiles. Then I'll pass out on the couch watching the LOTR trilogy.
-
I've put aside the entire day to watch the Mad Max and Dundee trilogies. After that I'm going to watch my 2 DVD set of Greg Norman's Bad Shots Under Pressure.

Has it been a year already? Damn US media, there's been no mention of this. I decided last year to really do something special on ANZAC day. I wonder if Nicole Kidman would take my call. Actually the one I'd really like to completely celebrate with is Naomi Watts.
Anyways, congrats to my Fosters friends.

Two yanks and an Italian. I'm glad at least somebody replied to my goodwill message. :D

The media is just calling it Australia Day over here. No mention of New Zealand whatsoever. Guess I'll just skip my LOTR marathon.

That's what you get when you get when you watch liberal media news. FOX "fair and balanced" got it correct.

I love ANZAC day. The flying robes, the grace....stunning.

That's a very good idea. I suggest you skip the upcoming Hobbits series also.

Wow, I'm hungover after Australia Day. I don't know how Aussies live like that every day. Let me also just say that Fosters is not very good. I know Aussies everywhere swear by it and love it, but not me.

It is kind of weird having to share a holiday with another country. It would be like the US sharing memorial day with Canada.
BTW, is New Zealand kind of like the Canada of the Southern Hemisphere?

I was thinking along the lines of Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic.

I don't know what you're talking about. Every year I celebrate Cinco De Mayo at El Torito. They've got a 2 for 1 Marguerita special and kids eat free.
Yo Quiero Cinco De Mayo

Exactly what I would expect from the American media. Australia Day is 26 January.

OK, you caught me in a lie. The American media didn't report a single thing on either ANZAC Day or Australia Day (which I thought I had made up). Happy?

It was a failed troll attempt after I said the American media didn't report on it. Thanks for handling.

No. Media distortion, lies and misinformation is very dangerous and can unduly influence decision making in important things like voting in elections. Hitler was the first dictator to use the electronic media to influence and control opinion. It is the epitome of evil and we must root it out at every opportunity.
BTW are you going to skip the upcoming LOTR prequel 'Hobbit' films. That's what I'm recommending but others may have a different opinion. I hated the LOTR series.

Honestly, I don't have any inclination to watch anything that requires my attention for longer than an hour. I will be skipping the Hobbit, as well as pretty much any other movie.
I agree with your sentiment that the media's handling of ANZAC Day is on par with the atrocities committed by Hitler. In fact, I don't find your comparison offensive at all, and would be surprised if others hold you in low moral regard for that statement.

It is interesting to me that this act is actually celebrated in your country. Here in America there a few people that try to post it in letters and mail it to government agencies, but it doesn't go over well.
