    Shaft Choices
    Hi Guys,

Just a quick question for you all about shaft choices. I'm looking for a shaft that promotes a slightly higher ball flight as I tend to hit the ball quite low. From reading other threads on this site I believe that I need something that is tip soft. Is this correct? Also I have heard that the Aldila NVS or the Graphalloy Pro Launch may be good options for me. Is that the case or are there any other shafts that I should try. I swing pretty fast so will need an S flex cos I don't want the thing to feel like a wet noodle but also I don't want it to be stiff as a board (Aldila NV 65 feels a little too stiff for me).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh if I'm going to use one of these shafts should I consider going down a degree of loft in my driver (i.e. from 10.5* to 9.5*).

    Thanks Guys.

U could try what my X liked to do. She would Demo every single shaft that she could get her hands on and never make a decision just keep trying this guys shaft than that guys and so on. LoL

Just joke but Poncho is correct here mainly find a shaft with the flight u want that feels good. I always like a shaft that I feel like I can't overswing, but Iswing hard so its all preferance. I would findmn the shaft with the right kick piont for u before going to a softer tip

Those shafts are good choices, but I wouldn't go lower on your lofts. The change in the trajectory of the ball is determined by loft to a greater degree than by shaft flexpoint and tip stiffness.

I've been doing some similar research to yourself. Same problem, trying to promote height. I ending up going for a Fujikura shaft Tour Release series 25.3 stiff. Fujikura ran into a legal issue about the name and had to rebrand it, so it was on offer for $79. I put it in the 983K (10.5 degree) and I have to say it's a lovely shaft, but at the end of the day "ya still gotta hit it". The ball definitlely goes higher. Not always great into a 40mph wind up at Portstewart though.

There's a fella up in Drogheda (Shopping Centre??), custom club maker. Dave Ireland has been up there. Give him a bell and I'm sure he'll talk you through the pros and cons.

I recently put a Fujikura Tour Platform Series 26.3 R Flex on my R7. Very good result. long and accurate and high ball flight. I can;t handle stiff shaft and this one seems to work quite well.

    Once again,

A big thanks to you all, gonna do some demoing at my local range this Saturday, I'm just gonna hit everything they have and then pick a favourite, but I'm not leaving til I'm satisfied. Will let you guys know how I get on. Incidentally I do like the stock Fuji in my Ignite, it's an S flex but feels a little softer which allows me to feel the clubhead a bit more. Reason I started this search is that a friend of mines brother is an agent for Ping and he's gonna give me a G2 driver to demo, I just want to make sure I get the best shaft available ofr me!
