thanks Tommysels... I was thinking the same thing about bethpage's photos.... we love it here half way between LA and SF - less people, less traffic and less expensive... and year-round golf!

btw, I spent quite a bit of time going through tons of golf photos on flickr from all over the world and collected them here:

Here are some pics from last years trip to Florida. Don't worry, I'm not that short anymore. I've grown about 8 inches since then. This place was the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie. Every year I go up there to watch the Mets' spring training and play golf. Hopefully, many more to come. Oh yeah, I've changed my swing since then. I used to come over the top and set my hands too early as you can see in one of the photos. I'm double jointed in my elbows so I kind of overdo it.

And the 5th, a downhill par 3 of approximately 170 yards from the regular tees and only 190 or so from the Championship...Oak Mountain forms the backdrop. This picture does it no justice. A real beauty this time of year with fall colors. These photos taken last May...
Is that you Bravo, looks like a pretty tough hole.
That's not me...I am usually behind the camera...yes a hole that only requires three things:

1) A very long drive
2) An approach that will get you on the correct zone of the green
3) An excellent first putt.

All of these combined will give you a chance for par. Anything else and you are toast.
• 11-16-2005
Bravo35223
And the 7th - yet again another long as hell hole that played about 450 that day....I saw Nicklaus tee off here in the 1990 PGA....deep fairway bunker on the left side. Saw Couples hit a 170 yard approach out of it to about 15 feet. Amazing because of its depth - about 4 feet deep...
• 11-16-2005

The 8th, a downhill par 3 with water on the left side. Pin located close to water is scary. Best play is to center and two putt....

Here's a weird (but actual) situation.

Our drives at rest on the 10th fairway after being hit through the air approximately 265 yards...What's the rule???
• 11-16-2005
Bravo35223
Let's tee off on the back side...once again a moderate difficulty hole that is not too hard to par...trees left and a creek on the right side if you really block it....
• 11-16-2005
Bravo35223
Approach shot on #11 a Par 5 with two carries - one over a creek and another over the pond you see here. A close look reveals a two level green. When the pin is back-left - it is devilish....I have hit this hole in two only twice in many rounds...lots of guts to go for the long carry in two and more than my share of dunks....
• 11-16-2005
Bravo35223
#13 - a 165 yard Par 3 from the regular tees...close to 200 from Championship. Huge, deep gully in front. Short shots are toast and you will find yourself about 50 feet below the green....
• 11-16-2005
Bravo35223
And the beautiful 14th. Tee elevated approximately 70 feet from the valley floor with Oak Mountain in the background. A deceptively hard hole because the green is "katy-cornered" away from the spine of the fairway...the only approach that will hold is a perfect straight on shot or - ideally - a fade....
• 11-16-2005
Bravo35223
Yours truly about to hit my shot on 14...I battle alignment problems with closed stance. Here is an example....

Sorry - system would not let me upload this one...

The 16th...another downill Par 3...the hardest on the course with a shallow green that is hard to hold. Plays 215 from the Championship tees....

You lift one of the balls, do NOT clean it. The other guy plays his shot, and you must recreate the lie the best you possibly can for the ball that was lifted. Anything other than that would be grounds for a penalty.

This is the third hole, which playes 184yrds from normal yellow tees. Over 200 yards from whites. I only have 1 picture, ill get some more soon. A lake covers the left side, a hedge and next tee is to the right. Below is a little description of the course.

TOM

Orchard Leigh Golf Club is located deep in the heart of the Somerset countryside and is home to quite a long course - measuring well in excess of 6800 yards from the tee on the first to the pin on the eighteenth - which is laid out to exacting USGA standards. Its championship length and formidable quality really does allow golfers the chance to pretend to be Tiger or Ernie for the day, and the quality of the course and how well is maintained, ensures that this illusion is not shattered.

Given its length, you can expect some long par-4 and 5s so if you are a big hitter you will love standing on those tees ready to let rip.
