All of you idiotic "adults" who can't seem to accept a teenager's opinion need a nice slap in the face. This message board is filled with insecure idiots who can't seem to find their own opinion because they just need to think how everyone else does. "A teen's opinion is not a worthy one." If I saw any of you in person I am positave you wouldn't be a hater like you are here. I don't really know what all of this is about, nor do I care. However, it did remind me of something I was thinking about the other day.

Young golfers fuel this game. Seldom will you find a very low handicapper at your local club/muni that didn't pick up the game at a young age and compete throughout at least high school. They are the ones that make careers out of golf, respect the rituals and traditions of the game, and inspire you hackers to become better players. Embrace the youth, respect their opinions, and guide them when YOU'RE qualified to. They can probably teach you a thing or two about the game and ettiquette. I know I could have.

I have two kids who are now grown, and have some knowledge of what the educational system should be producing. I do note that your spelling is considerably better than it was a year or so ago. You are probably close to approaching grade level in this subject. Where you fail utterly is in the realm of common sense and maturity. On these matters, you are clearly far behind your years. Someone blaming their "mistreatment" on the fact that they are a teenager is like someone assuming that they are being wronged because they are black, gay, or a member of some other group that isn't in the majority in society. Except for some obviously bigoted people who treat others strictly because of some identifying characteristic, people will tend to treat others based on their behavior, not because of that group identity. However, if someone who happens to fall into some sort of minority group is an SOB, ticks people off, and is rude, he/she may blame the reaction to their behavior on the "fact that I am ..........." (insert group name here), when it is their behavior, not their demographic group that is objectionable. That is why the vast majority of teenagers on this board are treated with respect. In fact, most of us probably don't even know that some of them are teenagers. They act responsibly and within socially acceptable standards. They are always welcome on this board, as they would be welcome in most social settings.

Frankly, BPC, you have been doing a very poor job of eliminating spam on the board lately. There were a couple of come-ons that were reported to administration (which should have come to your attention) which were allowed to remain for over a week after they were deleted. Another one was specifically reported by a member to contain the Trojan Horse, and it took you over a day to delete it. That was when I started my "Shouting" warnings. I am simply trying to keep GR members from getting burned, which is apparently more than you are doing about it. It wouldn't be necessary to post those warnings if you were promptly eliminating spam. Someone without a good firewall could be damaged by clicking on one of those spam links.
There was another spam thread that you simply locked instead of deleted, leaving the links still showing in a subsequent thread which had copied the original thread. You edited the original thread, but left the quoted, copied original thread still showing. Not a Phi Beta Kappa move, to say the least.
I'm certain that 90++ % of the board members would never fall for something like that, but I'd hate to see anybody get hurt. I would hope you would feel the same way.
You clearly are inclined to let flame threads (like this one and a few others currently running) run their course instead of closing or deleting them, and that's your call as moderator. But eliminating spam is a very simple, no brainer task, and you aren't even doing that very promptly. So I find it ironic that you choose to ridicule me when I am simply trying to compensate for your failure to perform your job properly.

Dorkman, get off your pedestal. If you're so passionate about the cleanliness of the board, then e-mail Francis and get your moderator title back. Some days I don't log onto GR, or sometimes even days at a time. I do my best, but even that is difficult when the slightest misjudgement could result in another Golfreview uprising. Also, I really hope you don't use the same condescending manner of speech with close friends/co-workers. It's really rude.

I have no desire to be a moderator on this board again. Administration offers no support; they are largely absentee landlords. But if you are calling yourself a moderator and don't log onto the board for days at a time, perhaps you should consider resigning as well.

Yes, I'm quite aware that I have been flaming. You don't need to "condescendingly" point that out to me. But it is obvious to me that "anything goes" on this board lately, and frankly Benguk is quite annoying to me and others. We have a long history.

By the way, unless the system has changed since I used to moderate, spam and other "bad thread" reports should be coming directly to your e-mail, and don't even require you going onto the board to be alerted. Do you go days at a time without checking your e-mail?

Anyway, I think Benny just wanted to start a little drama and see if he still had the "touch". His attempt was successful and it even got some other people in the thread arguing amongst themselves.

You are quite right. Benguk (not his real name anyway) probably never spells words incorrectly in a feeble attempt to be funny a la yours truly. His errors are always unintentional. Go back and read some of his posts from a year or so ago. They are painfully entertaining. His grammar and syntax are atrocious, and some words are hardly recognizable because they are mangled so badly. He is improving, though.
He is attempting to escape this whole fiasco with the "I was just kidding/trolling" alibi. Go back and read a lot of his posts from a year or two ago. I find it difficult to detect any fundamental difference in content; an angry kid striking out at the world as a whole and especially at particular tormenters. He definitely wasn't trolling then, but his reputation as a kamikaze-like flamer will remain in the lore and legend of this board.
