Demise of Golf Review Forums

I have been an avid reader of this forum for past few years. Just recently, maybe half year ago, I actually made an account and posted here and there.

This place has become Sahara Desert. This place used to be intriguing and had lot of thoughful discussions about game of golf. However, quality and quantity of discussions have died past few months.

IMO it has to do with lack of moderation, and couple of people who think they are know it alls and put people down. Who wants to engage in a discussion when people are putting them down?

Anyway, I remember this forum having at least 4-5 good topics to discuss on each day, now we are lucky if we get 1 good topic a week. All the discussions turn into Flame wars because 1 or 2 individuals who cant manage to get their head out of their asses.

This belongs in the Non-golf Discussion. With the dizzying pace of posts and threads (about 4 yesterday), I'm afraid this very important thread will get lost in the shuffle.

As Smoky The Bear so aptly put it; "Only you can prevent forest fires." Actually, that makes zero sense. What I think Smoky meant was; "Only you can prevent the demise of GR."

Agree. I used to post almost daily. Now I look and there is nothing to post about. I still check here a couple times a day. This was my first golf forum and I asked a bunch of questions a couple years ago. Maybe with spring and warm weather it will pick up.

It's not like this place is lacking for members. There's always around 20 members online, but very little activity. I honestly believe the flaming would go away with more traffic.
I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to a good flame war, because many of us find them entertaining when there's nothing else going on.
So, in closure, speak up people!

thats the thing, everything has been discussed multiple times.

someone has to come along and ask a question that the regular members heard 24 times and then the conversation ensues.

I still love and worship this place. <smiley face>

what this site needs is more pictures....we should all posts pics of WHATS IN THE BAG...you know compare toys, no golfing penguin not your battery powered one that you keep under your bed.

get some serious discussions on whats going on on the tours. Everyone likes pics so let's get some pics on here.

the moderators should open a subforum under golf discussion for us to post the pics.
