    The best grooves
    I am going to upgrade my wedges this year, and I was wondering if I could ask for some help in understanding which groove shapes perform best or is it all up to personal preference? Thanks:confused:

    Thanks for all the info!! That gauge design wedge looks positively scary. Sorry Omen2, I also play Wilson irons. I guess thats why I haven't heard of TPM or RJB either? I like the W/S line. And as far as putters go, Odyessey 2Ball White Steel is tops! I will list my gear for you to have some fun with Omen2:D

    RJB= Bettinardi
    TPM= T.P. Mills

    RJB makes putters for mizuno currently (as well as independantly)

    T.P. Mills makes sweet putters and i think he give one to every US President

    you guys really havent head of these guys??? theyre pretty well known...

    I have also heard of Bettinardi but not as RJB. But not T.P.Mills.(sorry). I listed my hybrids as hb6, They are W/S dh6's. clubs are in hibernation so I had to go and check to be sure. Anyways, back to the issue of wedge grooves. any thoughts on SMT durometer wedges they have square grooves and some not bad reviews. thanks

    I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Mizuno MP-T series...
    I have the black-nickel 53 and raw-oxide 58. The feel from these is excellent. I can spin the ball plenty with these. I suggest you at least try them out. As others have said, Titleist Vokey's are great as well.

    before i get back to the wedges...

    another few names for some of you newer guys to google and add to your reitoire of knowledge: Slighter ( see also: sweet as.s handmade putter dude), epon, fourteen, maruman, and tourstage

    not bad sticks...you could upgrade to some mizuno stuff and be worldclass.

    to have not heard of TPM is herasy....

    anything mizuno is good to go...even their wedges....i am to the point in my game where i want to go with handmade....that way i can get each clubhead shaped exactly the way i want...each with the bounce and sole grind that will do what i want it to do. So Scratch it is and i will be saving up my pennies until i can afford the full customization that i want....

    I sincerely hope you are in no way verbally assaulting Sweet Swingin' Jeff Maggert.
    Vokey SM for spin. Cleveland CG10's for feel. I've owned both and currently play the Vokeys. They feel harsher than the CG10's but spin like crazy.
    Those Gauge Designs look good and Sonartec has some pretty sweet looking wedges as well, but I've haven't tried them. If I was in the market, I'd give the Sonartecs a try. Good luck finding Gauge products. I looked for a specific GD putter for about 8 months on eBay and various online retailers and could never find the one I wanted so I gave up.
    It's a sad day when I can't rile up Omen...

    I can't, because I own them as well. You do have to be a mega-poontang to put anything but project x shafts in them though. It'd be like putting 87 octane in a Ferrari.

    The only thing more feminine than rifles are Mizuno fairway woods. Everyone knows what the "F" stands for.
