    LDG and the SPCC weekend
so Horseballs fits his monicker to the tee... seriously though he's a really nice guy.

so it starts off friday night with my arrival... 9 phucking hours on the road....

we break out the sticks and he notices that i do indeed not have any hybrids or cavity backs to which he acknowledges my superiorness.

we have some beer watch some TIVO and off to bed

Saturday morning: arrive at course really early .... meet the other 10 guys and off we go... its at elks run golf club ( a greg norman ) that has 4 foot of heather that they call rough... the greens were super fast and there was absolutely no way to stop the ball... OMEN SHOOTS 97... killer i know

second round.... more of the same throw in a couple birdies.... OMEN SHOOTS 82.... the third round i am not sure but needless to say i didn't play nearly well enough to compete with the 30 handi that shot a NET 56....

SUNDAY AND THE SPCC... or should i say INCONCEIVABLY PRETENTIOUS COUNTRY CLUB...

anyway it is with great shame that i admit that HORSEBALLS BEAT OMEN by 3 strokes...

it is a super fantatstic course the greens were immaculate and they received shots very well... in fact i found it impossible to control the spin.

In the end it WAS THE GREATEST GOLFING WEEKEND OF MY LIFE AND IF YOUR NAME IS BJ AND YOU DIDNT COME YOU HAVE THE BIGGEST MANGINA OF THEM ALL... OH AND YOU MISSED ONE HELLUVA TIME.

I dont know that Horse will invite me back because He knows DEEP DOWN INSIDE THAT the second time i play a course i shave 15 strokes off the round...

OHH... THIS AINT OVER BY A LONG SHOT...

SERIOUSLY THOUGH: he's a great golfer, a great guy, and he has a great dog named Ruby. Thanks again Horse for your HOSPITALITY AND GENEROSITY...

.... by the way I have seen the SPCC and i get MAD STREET CRED.

and he made me drink MILLER LITE.... what a douchebag.

Mad props to Omen for making the trek over to Cincinnati. His street cred is on the rise, but mine is probably down a bit for being called a nice guy.
The SPCC doesn't treat newcomers very well, but it was a good showing nonetheless.
The rematch is on for LDG '08!

Well this weekend I played a championship course with dad & shot 79 (Even 36 on the front), went jet skiing and camping at the lake, and it was only a 30 MINUTE DRIVE. So I guess that makes a good consolation prize :)

Glad you guys had a good time. 97???? ouch

I agree, but if I personally witness Omen or anyone else for that matter, shoot a 97, I will kick his ass where he stands. That's uncalled for.

I respect any man who will admit an honest 97. Not as much as someone who shoots an honest 67, but respect none the less.

I am a hardworking mofo. I pretty much am this whole week, but I'll try.
Do you really want these picks up so badly? I can recall at least 3 you probably want me to erase.
Omen hitting a bunker shot (or was that his second attempt?).
Omen trying to hit every tree in the forest.
Omen drinking a Miller Lite and LOVING it.
I'll make time you impatient bastard.

Where in FL are you? My folks have a super pretentious condo down in Naples that I'm planning on hitting up a few times this fall and winter.

I'm in, I'm only about an hour and a half west of Orlando, maybe 2 hours south of Naples. I'd wait till it gets a little cooler down here. These 90+ degree days along with the humidity are just brutal unless you get up at the break of dawn to play.

I'm definitely waiting till the fall. The only good part about the summer is the reduced greens fees. I went down in late February and paid $180 to play a course that would have been $30 max at home.
  • 06-26-2007
    DENNIS7180GOLF
Yes you are right. i can play really nice courses for 30.00 in the summer but it is african hot out here.but come the fall im only about 3.5 hrs from the naples area so i would be there.

I think it was called Arrowhead or Arrowhead Lakes. I've only been down to Naples once and my dad's back can't handle more than a round or two per week. I've got to get the lay of the land next time. From what I can gather, most of the courses are private and they cost a fortune to join. My folks condo has a par 3 tee in their backyard, but that course is something like $165K to join plus dues around $700 monthly. Maybe I'll turn on some of that Horseballs charm and get a member to take me out next time. It may also snow in Naples.

if you head north just a little you can get in the 75.00 per round range and that would be an awesome course.those are fall prices.I play year round and never pay more than 50.00 in this area.

Depends on the club. Some places try to encourage younger members so they offer reduced initiation fees, or installments. The one I joined is 1k a year till I'm 40, and then just normal dues

There's a place called World Woods about 45 minutes north of me that's pretty cheap and supposedly a really nice course. I've never played it cause I'm just lazy.

I agree, I'm quite a fan of it. 20 bucks for a cart, free to walk whenever. 18 hole Jack Nicklaus design course (I hate that man with a passion after playing this course) that's just tricky and really focuses on accuracy. Miss a fairway, you're probably wet or OB.

Mad Jack must have some crazy obsession with OB. My future father-in-law lives on a Nicklaus-designed course in the Twin Cities and all I see when I step up to the tee are white stakes and billion dollar houses with the world's largest picture windows. When I hit a good shot I'm not happy as much as I am relieved that I didn't wind up in someone's living room. Maybe you get used to it when you play that type of course all the time but I find it very intimidating.

went like this... bogey, par, bogey, par, par, birdie, par, birdie, par, TURN par, par, bogey, par, par, par, par, par, par

    i had birdie putts on 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18.....11 birdie putts and only made 3... what a PHUCKING GOAT TRACK....

Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, 25*C No wind, and mainly sunny. This weekend its suppposed to hit the 30* mark. Its great here. It may get cold in the winter but thats when I often have the most time to work on my game. You cant play so you have to practice.
