Anyway I haven't wished you good luck. I know this started out as a purely social game but it was always going to escalate.
There are some questions to be answered. For example, will he play the Ping Eye 2's? Will he hit every green in reg? Will you have to jostle your way through the gathering crowd of on-lookers?
Sould be fun....... and ..........Good luck, :D

I wouldn't fail to not discourage not using double or multiple negatives as long as, rather than not failing, the writer succeeds at avoiding not creating an absensce of clarity. Clarity, it goes without saying, at least I find complete certainty in this no matter what others might say, not that their opinions matter, even if they do to some extent, is key.
So it's yes and no.

This is my first post on this site, but I have to say, famousdavis has some of the funniest reviews I've ever read on this site. In my experience, the guys who say they are "the best ballstriker ever", are pretty poor golfers, and pretty gay to boot. Double Whammy. I will now take a seat and STFU, as I'm sure I will hear soon enough on this site, but before I go, a few parting words...
Calling hitting range balls "Throwing Darts" is a B!tchmove
Saying "I could play on tour, but I don't believe in playing for money" is a B!tchmove
Last but not least, saying "I'm the best ballstriker on this website" is an uber B!tchmove.

Fking hell, Davis. Give noshuz 1-2-3 strokes and call it fair. (1 stroke for par 3, 2 for par 4, 3 for par 5) After all, how can a double-digit handicapper compete against the best ballstriker, according to his associates ?
Personally, I believe you do not possess the balls to give such stroking.

Yes it's raining here too Omen. To find out what the latest and greatest with the match, all you need to do is SCROLL DOWN. Two or three ways to do so. If your mouse has a wheel on it, you'll want to roll that bad boy back TOWARD you. The second way would be to left click and HOLD the SCROLL BAR on the right. The third way would be to use the ARROW button DOWN. Don't forget to let up on the button when you get to where you want to be.
I hope this helps. 99% of amateurs do in fact know these techniques....

I wasn't referring to you and FD. If you get a prolonged period of rain in the middle of winter and the course turns to mush there is no point playing. There's no fun in that.
-
Even though we have been ging through a proonged drought in my part of the world, we got some good rain this week, and playing in bad conditions was something I was actually looking forward to. As long as the course is open and playable, I don't worry about rain. I leave it up to the starters as to whether I can play or not. One thing I've noticed about rainy days, is the guys that bich about it are the unorganised ones who don't have a rain cover for the bag, usually don't have wet weather gear, and usually have some shitty old umbrella that looks like a strong breeze would blow it to bits. As long as you can keep your feet, body and golf grips reasonably dry, rain isn't a big deal. One good thing about rain is half the field usually pulls out at the first drop of rain so it makes for a fast game for those with a bit of ticker.

I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. By the way, don't even think about using any part of my name or I'll be contacting my intellectual property attorney. It's bad enough that I have to school people on the course much less school them on proprietary matters.
On another note, Karsten Jr. should sue McCarron for causing this whole mess that led to Phil taking the Eye 2 LW out of this bag. We all know it's the best LW ever manufactured. Well mates, I'm off to some wine tasting and cheese followed by a possible round in the Napa valley. If only life could be this good for everyone.

Ya I guess I just wasn't thinking when I said I would alter my name. I wouldn't want to mar the noshuz family name.
I like the Plymouth/Fairplay area for red wine. Some of the best red wines on the planet comes from there. Story, Latchum, Fitzpatrick, Silver Leaf to name a few. They're a lil' more down to earth there and unlike Napa, you don't have to pay for tasting......

I've only quit a game once when it was raining so heavily and constantly that we were drowned rats at the end of the front nine. We were soaked through, our gloves were sodden, all the grips on our clubs were wet and none of us could mark our scorecards which were rapidly turning into paper mache.
We decided to pack it in after nine.

It is likewise also very rare to stop playing a round because of rain with my mates. I remember one time several years ago when it was so wet I hit a 3 wood off the deck and there was so much water between the clubface and the ball it it just squirted of low and right about 30 metres. If you just can't hit shots, or putt through lakes on the green there is not much point in continuing.
-
I love playing in the rain but you have to walk. It's the only way you can keep things dry. A couple of extra towels and gloves along with hanging things on the underside of your umbrella helps.
The problem at my home course is portions are almost surrounded by streams that can become impassable in a moderate rain. If you don't cross in time, you might end up having to wait things out, which can take hours.

Hey FD. Have ya made it out to play in the mud? I went to THE goat track Monday. You know the one. Very muddy and I'm really rusty but I finished strong and parred the last 3 holes. It's the first time playing 18 (if you wanna call it a legit 18) in a month. I'd like to play Mather, Bing or Ancil. Bing probably best for me since I'm coming from work but that's a step beyond goat track in your eyes I'm sure.
Oh and I sent Valentines cards to every one on the board. That's why I have so much support. Geez maybe I should have been a politician! ......

It's very easy to use but the best feature is the ability to just plug it into you computer via USB and then use the software the comes with it. You can take several videos that you've made, choose the ones you want and then the software will automatically blend them all together and make a movie. You can choose music as a background as well. I thought I would use something cool like Lionel Ritchie for the golf video.

Ancil sounds fine. It's probably going to be the driest of the few I'd like to play. I'll be wearing lederhosen, a red carnation and playing bagpipes on the first tee. I shouldn't be hard to spot. If all else fails, look for the small calves.
Seriously though, The 5th is fine. It looks good weather wise. I'm probably going to take the day off so an early tee time would be good. PM me as we get closer and we can hash all that out.
Although my game sucks as of late, I'm looking forward to this!.....
Oh and ABBA would be a good choice for music....
Lionel Ritchie? WTF? Please! just kill me now!
When you arrive at the course FD will sing out "Hello - is it me you're looking for?"
His ball striking is as solid as a "BRICK - HOUSE". If that turns out to be the case beating you will be "Easy, Easy like a Sunday Morning".
But if he turns out to be a phony and you beat him you'll be "Dancing on the Ceiling", "All Night Long".
FD, judging from some of your posts I have come to a conclusion -- if you did not choose to play those PING shovel POS irons, you could be my alias on this board or at the least a long lost brother. We have some similar tastes in movies and music. Lionel Richie's music is indeed very cool.
And, while I am a bit more humble about my golf skills, just give me about 5 more years whenever I am hitting in the low 70s and we'll be similar in that department as well.

LOL. My kind of humor. If I beat him, I'll do the Eddie Murphy version of..."Ya unce, dice tee times a mady..."

Hey, if I didn't play the PING POS I wouldn't score low. Lionel Richie is cool and I'm proud to admit it. Who doesn't start shaking their hips to Dancing on the Ceiling? Music today sucks compared to the old days. Kool & the Gang, The Cars, Supertramp, ELO, the list goes on and on. Village People had a few good ones as well. Nowadays all you've got is little teen ho's singing crap or some gangsta like Flo Rida. I actually like Lady Ga Ga but someone told me she was once a dude. I can't really see that but you never know.

To be honest I CAN"T STAND Lionel Richie. There is a concert event here known as The Mission Concert (it's a winery) and every year tickets go on sale without knowing who the artist is but demand is so high people just take their chances. My wife bought tickets last year and it turned out to be LR - OMG!!!
I was talking to a Tour Guide about the concert and he was bragging about how it's NEVER been rained off in 30 years. Well, I did a little rain dance and the weather gods answered my prayers and it p.issed down with rain and Lionel was cancelled with a full ticket refund. First time in 30 years! Hallelujah baby! The minute it was cancelled I was 'Dancing on the Ceiling'.

Well we're a week and half away. What time do you feel like playing thar buddy? Ima thinkin' 'bout 9am?
-
The course we're playing is pretty tough but doable as long as you stay out of the trees. The greens are usually nice and not too fast. They're rolling at 8.7 right now and should be a little faster by the 5th. Last time I played there in October I shot 90 and played crappy. I need to have a good round and FD a bad round for this to be close. My HC is 16.2 right now. I've been in a definite slump lately but with the Ahaa I had yesterday followed be the discussion this morning I'm ready to unleash hell.....

Well well NS, its good to see you've picked up the gauntlet and (ala Mr3W) are defending the honor of the game... it sounds like you're not expecting the several feet of (additional) snow set to pound us east coast buds - Beat 'em down, and then kick 'em...

We've all got to do our part to encourage one another, and there's no harm in rootin' for NS ... we all know neither one of you will show up (I'm sure you've both got your reasons, justifications, rationalizations, etc.)
I'm not sure where you're going with your response Famous, can you be a bit clearer? Maybe Edgey or Fred could give you a pointer ...
