I am not a Tiger fan. Never have been. I pull for him in Ryder cups and when he is playing against a non-American that I don't care for. (I was pulling for YE Yang in the 09 PGA, though) One thing about Tiger is certain. You can never count him out. Never. It's funny to me that people forget how many amazing things he's done, and think he's finished. Do you guys really think at 37 years old he's never goin to win again? Granted, he probably won't win alot until next year, and he might not win a major this year, but he will eventually. When he switched to Hank Haney, he said that swing changes usually took 2 years to stick. He will win a major again. He finished tied for 4th in the Masters last year. It would not surprise me if he missed the cut, but it wouldn't surprise me if we won the whole damn thing, either.

    Almost forgot.

Tiger will finish T27th at +5 on Sunday. He will open with a 73, and go on to shoot 41 on his first nine friday, only to go on a Tiger-of-old tear on the second nine to make the cut by one shot. This will give the Tiger lovers hope, and Saturday he'll finish 5 back of the leaders... everyone in the media will be blowing Tiger's horn at that point, saying he's overdue for a breakthrough. They'll be talking about the 5th green jacket for hours before he tees off on Sunday. Then he'll go out and throw it away by closing with an abysmal 77 to lose by 9 shots.

Some shortknocking noob wins the green jacket. Dustin Johnson in second two back, and Phil finishes T-3 three back.

If all of that happens exactly as predicted, I most certainly WILL be buying a lottery ticket. :D

I recall a couple of years back they were growing rough, lengthening holes etc to Tiger proof it. Now he is half the player he was are they making it easier??? My point was, Phil will win hitting it all over the place if the course is set up so wayward drives/tee shots aren't penalised. There was talk for many years about what Augusta was doing to the course, just haven't heard anything lately. Maybe if an Aussie can win the tourney we will get better interest by the media over here.

Aaron Baddelly is a solid contender. I think they should keep Augusta free of rough. That's the way the course was meant to be played. Phil is clearly the favorite to win this tournament. Let's face it, it's impossible to pick the winner because plenty of relatively unknowns have won it. I hope that's not the case this year. I agree with you on those three and one, if not all, of them are in the last few groups on Sunday. As far as I'm concerned, unless they are near the lead, I don't care if I see Phil, Tiger, et al. hit a shot or a putt at all.

Why doesn't Fred Couples ever get a good hair cut?

Calling vijay a black man is an insult to black men.

I think that champions dinner thing is the biggest wank in golf. No wonder nobody takes this tournament seriously as a major.

I didn't notice any sheep shaggers in that photo either.

But that's not the reason I hate the whole Augusta thing. Yaz is right, they are a bunch of red neck crackers who are living in the dark ages. Lets face it, if Tiger had so much as walked in the front gates 30 years ago they would have tied him to the back of a pick up and dragged him round the carpark a few times. I've always hated elitist biggots, and they wrote the book on elitist bigotry.

Is that before or after they lynched him?

That's a very good question. I would imagine it would be part of the lynching, but you never can tell with these things. Is there some sort of lynching manual down in the south? Or do they just ad lib it?

No doubt, but I was using the term as a proper noun relating to Kiwis, not an adjective, of which Player would obviously qualify.

Being Augusta I doubt they would ad lib it. More likely they would have a written protocol that must be obeyed to the letter of the law. Whilst I agree that they would have lynched him if he walked in the front gate there must have been an alternative 'coloreds' entry for the caddies, green keepers assistants, cleaners etc.

So I imagine the protocol would be to lynch him first then drag him around behind the pick up in clear view of the other workers in order to keep the other colored folk in line.

Went to Wed practice rd at Augusta in '03, walked the course backwards (18, 17, 16, 15, etc) and wasted too much time at Amen Corner-had to kinda hurry through the front (uh, first) nine and saw Stadler all by himself playing # 2-and he was already sweating. Told him 'good luck' (we were only ones there, everybody else was heading for start of Par 3) and he grunted 'thanks' while taking a puff off his cigarette. Saw Couples smoking on the course that day too, kinda surprised me-didn't know he smoked before that. After Par 3 was over Fuzzy signed a bunch of autographs and finally said 'sorry folks gotta go, the players have to drink too'.

If it is a geographical restriction, then I would assume the board members at Augusta don't like New Zealanders. Maybe they didn't like the Lord of the Rings trilogy either.
