I'm sitting here eating leftovers and reflecting on what a great tournament it was. As much as I'd love to hate the Masters for so many reasons, I have to admit it's easily the best tournament. The course is so awesome in so many ways. It's simply the best tournament course there is. And familiarity with the course and its history creates viewer/spectator interest throughout and builds dramatic anticipation on Sunday.
And if you didn't like a no-name winning, get used to it. The talent level out there is becoming incredibly deep. There're just too many guys who can/will win if they get hot, which is why I predicted a guy like Schwarzel. Golf's moving away from being a sport dominated by a small group of stars. Which will make the gyrations of the profit-makers amusing as they try and sell certain individuals.
Have to admit i agree Zo, even tho i don't think the Masters should be a major its definitely the best tournament to view. The last 6 holes from the last few groups was the best finish to a tournament in years. And the only people who would think the winner is a no name are those people who don't follow golf outside the States. The final leaderboard should do more than enough to encourage them to finally think outside the square. Just glad the scheduling was worked out to allow the South Africans to play in the presidents' cup in Melbourne later this year, cause their group of current young players are top class. Woods being in contention did add interest, but his interview afterwards and his general attitude shows he lacks what the next young generation appear to have on the golf course - class.

Those green jackets look like something they found in a dumpster. Or No Shuz golf bag.
I completely agree. For whatever reason, the US Open is always a let down and kind of boring. The British Open is usually a great tournament to watch even though the coverage isn't as good. Some of the PGA Championship events have been the best tournaments I've seen. The one with Tiger and Bob May is still the most exciting tournament I've ever seen.
I would like to see the PGA be dropped as a major and the records changed, just bcause tha would make Davis Love the turd majorless.
I'm making fun of the guy's name...not of him. There's nothing racist about it. My comment has nothing to do with Woods. I think Schwartzel is a great player and fun to watch and I'm glad he won but I do think he has a funny name and I'm just being silly. That's it, nothing more. Loosen the bone Wilma.
Shwartzel grew up on a farm in South Africa, he would have learned from a very young age how to deal with those coloured folk, or kaffirs as they are known there. No way was he going to let a kaffir get the better of him.

What's with the players with bad teeth? Can't you guys get braces on your teeth when you're younger? Schwartzel's got a set of chompers on him that would make a beaver nervous. I'd really like to see him show some class and get his teeth straightened out before next year's Masters. The Masters is for players who understand class and know how to look appropriate. Tiger's teeth look great and I'm not distracted during his interviews by a snaggle tooth.

Second, I have no tolerance for the name Charls. He needs to change it to Chuck, Charlie or Chi Chi. How about Chuck Swat. That's awesome. "Here comes Chuck Swat up the fairway for his 3rd green jacket. The Swat factor really came into play today".

I see no reason why we can't get along on this wonderful forum. Just because you yield GFF forged blades and I play a player's club like the Ping S59 doesn't mean that we can't have jovial conversations.
Almost forgot.

Tiger will finish T27th at +5 on Sunday. He will open with a 73, and go on to shoot 41 on his first nine friday, only to go on a Tiger-of-old tear on the second nine to make the cut by one shot. This will give the Tiger lovers hope, and Saturday he'll finish 5 back of the leaders... everyone in the media will be blowing Tiger's horn at that point, saying he's overdue for a breakthrough. They'll be talking about the 5th green jacket for hours before he tees off on Sunday. Then he'll go out and throw it away by closing with an abysmal 77 to lose by 9 shots.

Some shortknocking noob wins the green jacket. Dustin Johnson in second two back, and Phil finishes T-3 three back.

If all of that happens exactly as predicted, I most certainly WILL be buying a lottery ticket. :D

At least I got the noob part right. Schwartzel is anything but a shortknocker. :D

That would be about it though... it's no wonder I don't ever bet money on golf. I really suck at predictions.

That was a really fun tournament to watch though. Schwartzel really had that putter working on the final few holes. Great finish. I love when a tournament is WON such as this year's Masters, rather than given away as is often the case in the US Open and British Open.

I like when a tournament decides a WINNER as opposed to the LEAST LOSER. Makes it way more enjoyable as a fan and as a spectator. We can only dream that the governing bodies for the remaining Majors learned something about DRAMA and SUSPENSE from this past week's Masters tournament. That was an exciting tournament. I wish all the Majors could play out similar to that.

Shwartzel isn't a shortknocker, but he aint long either. Out of the last 4 or 5 groups, his partner Choi would be the only ne he would hit it past.

Funny thing FD, i was watching highlights of the 3rd round and the missus says who is that(Schwartzel), and i said " oh thats a South African who has the best dentist on tour". Good thing his swing is more natural than the gob full of pearly whites he has.
