Tiger wins by 5 and golf is once again fun to watch. The most promising aspect of his game right now is his putting. He made some crucial putts in the home stretch that are similar to ones he's missed in prior tournaments. I'm not sure why he doesn't hit that iron shot off the tee more often. His wedge shots need a little work. Lag putting is phenomenal.

Yeah, the announcers were saying that he was being coached on his putting and they found he was 10-12 degrees off line when setting up for a putt, and they straightened out his set up.

Also his driving is now better.

Tiger is back!!!

Bow down to your new golf overlord!!!

Okay internet tough guys-especially NAH- you punk SOB. Your hero hits those lucky-@$$ tee shots that bounced off of fences this week at Augusta and he won't even be playing the weekend. Plus, wood SHOULD win this tourney out of all the ones he plays-whats he won it, 6 times now? EVERY athlete has a favorite home field, court, course, etc you ignorant followers-especially you NAH you ignorant SOB. Good ol' woody will not let me down at Augusta-this was a big deal for him and just a tuneup for the rest of the guys (how many top 10's were at Arnolds tourney-HUH?) who didn't play this week. Let the 'N' fans rejoice-us purists will get the last laugh after The Masters. A great story is always told at Augusta-wood winning would be like NAH declaring he's straight-STUNNING.

Does this mean Im not on your Christmas card list? Lighten up Cupcake, tiger only has 4 or 5 years left at the top and there is still faint hope he wont beat your hero's major record. Im hoping he gets the slam this year to overtake Jack so we wont have to hear anymore nonsense about Nicklaus being the greatest.

If anything Tiger was unlucky with that shot that went out of bounds. He should have won by 7 shots instead of 5. If you don't already know, some stupid lady screamed in the middle of his downswing because her kid had fainted. Tiger tried to stop his swing during the downswing but in a split second decided to go ahead and hit it out of bounds so that he would have the time to check on the lady's son and administer CPR, if necessary. That guy is amazing.

Tiger may not have cried after his win but I did.

Seems to me a true professional could block that out, Vijay did a few years back when he was making a run at wood (who'd already finished) and one of woods' fans had dropped back and screamed 'get in the water, as Vijay made contact-the ball ended up on the green........not OB. Just another case where he's (wood) trying to make it look like 'poor me', he's looking for controversy/trouble.

So, do we have an entire list of what constitutes a b!tchmove? I'm pretty sure the following have been identified:

The use of numbers, like I'm doing right now.

The use of one of these round, bold guys.
The use of iron covers
Listing your clubs in your sig
Belly Putters
Long Putters
Three-ball putters
Scorecard holder
Walking off the course after the 5th hole
Having lunch after walking off the course after the 5th hole.
The use of a chipper
Pull carts
Saddle Shoes

That's all I can think of right now

You're starting to sound like larry with the name calling hypocrisy. As for tiger, let he who is without sin throw the first stone. When I watch golf I judge the golfers on what they do on the course, not what they are alleged to do in their own time. I also like tje way he handles himself, treating reporters with the contempt their questions deserve.

One of the greatest human failings is the behavior of contempt prior to investigation. I think if we had all of the facts it would become clear that Stevie, Elin, Hank Haney and Charles Barkley all played a negative roll in Tiger's life and eventually led to his short term demise. I'm proud of Tiger for treating these people like the parasites they are and politely asking them to make themselves scarce.

Let's face it, Tiger is back from the dead. He's mentally stronger. It reminds me of the movie Scarface where Tony Montana shoots Frank and the crooked cop who tried to take him down. He emerges a new man, gets Michelle Pfiffer and takes over the business. And I quote "first you get the money. Then when you getta' da' money you get da' power. Then when you get da' power you get da' women".

Yeah well, it looks like he saved par after that pulled drive that you're telling us about. Woods is amazing that way.

On another note, I see the Walrus is 7 over. That guy has not business playing in this tournament. Neither does Crenshaw; a short hitter BACK THEN. Imagine how long this course is playing for him NOW.

I really hope Martin Kaymer doesn't win. He's right up their with Louis Oushtenslibitz as far as entertainment value.

Year I went we were touring the front 9 when the par 3 tourney started and I believe we were walking #5 when 2 marshals asked if we'd hold up a minute (everybody else was at the par 3) so we did. Minute or so later here he comes 'round the corner-Stadler! He was by himself-him and his caddy, and he looked like he wanted it that way. We just continued on, I remember my stepdad loved The Walrus. But hey, Past Champions always have a spot and I noticed that day the fans LOVE Crenshaw.
I don't think Kaymer has made the cut here before but Louis has a chance-wait, tiger just bogied 7! Too early to drink here (west coast), gonna have to head to a bar around 1:00 or so this PM. I expect him to win-I don't have to like it though! Have a good day, enjoy the play. Greatest Show on Earth, my favorite week of the year.

Looks like Fannie (with Henrik on the clubs) is 5 under before the turn. Now there's a woman with several green jackets and I like her chances because her guy can really pound it. Thursday's leaderboard means very little as we all know. The one tournament where it means absolutely nothing is the US Open.

If Woods can get to 2 or 3 under after the first day he'll be in position to win.

If this were a real championship instead of a pissant invitational we wouldn't have to suffer feeble old shortkockers with no game getting in the way of the real golfers. It's an absolute disgrace that these old timers are allowed in the tournament. Let them play in the pro am and maybe the par 3 trounament as they can hit 3 wood and hybrids into greens from the forward tees that the pros use wedge from, but get them the hell off the course when the real golf starts.

In all seriousness, this is one of the main reasons I don't rate this event in the same class as the 2 Opens. It's absurd that guys who can't break 90 on their best day in a mid week members comp are allowed to tee it up in a professional major. FD and Sooner, even you two must conceed that former champions decades past their use by date have no business teeing it up in the main event. It turns this event into a circus instead of a major golf championship.

Now if Phil wins his 4th Green Jacket today, thats as many as wood, so realistically he's as good as tiger then. Agree or disagree?
Also about tigers temper tantrum on the back 9 Friday, should he be fined, suspended, or what? I would think Billy Payne and Augusta-since they send out the invitations, should consider not inviting him back again for that immature and child-like display.

31 is a reasonable bet if PM goes into it with momentum and a lead. He'll be Secretariat at Belmont.

Also about tigers temper tantrum on the back 9 Friday, should he be fined, suspended, or what? I would think Billy Payne and Augusta-since they send out the invitations, should consider not inviting him back again for that immature and child-like display.
Phil is certainly much better than Tiger now. Until 2009, Tiger was much better than anyone else then playing any tour. Of course, that could change by the week but it looks like whatever changes Tiger is trying to make, they don't work on a course like Augusta National and with a field like you typically find at the Masters. As for not inviting him back next year, it would be extremely costly to the Masters franchise and all the attendant cling-ons like the Network and the Advertisers. I would agree that if you ban him, then you should ban all past Masters winners who can no longer break 70, let alone compete. While we're at it, why not ban all those who have no likely chance to win it. That would mean a field of around 24 or so. It would be a much more manageable field and you would get to see every player hit many more of his shots than you do now. Given the course and tournament history, I doubt that there would be any great drop-off in viewership or "patron" attendance. The way it is now, there are a dozen or so players who stand a realistic chance of winning and the rest are just using oxygen and emitting CO2 and methane.

Take good look at Tiger's career stats i.e. wins, cuts made, top 5s and 10s, and you will see that nobody stacks up to him. It's not opinion, statistically Tiger is far and away the greatest golfer in the history of the game. And he still has at least 10 years to go before he's done.

I think that at his best, Tiger was better than Harry Vardon, Walter Hagen, Bobby Jones, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Armold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, or any other player ever was at his respective best. I've never before seen anything like Tiger at his best.

And I don't see any of that any more. He refuses to take stock of his reduced physical abilities and his injury ravaged body. If he acknowledged what everybody else can see, his golf IQ would allow him to contrive a game that could still put him in the hunt for a couple more majors. Maybe his regular IQ, or more likely, just his vanity, won't let him do it.

I knew it before it even happened. I knew without a shadow of a doubt who would win that playoff yesterday and what it would come down to. I knew that Ernie Els would be facing 8 to 12 foot putts and that he absolutely would leave them short and on the low side of the hole. He does that EVERY SINGLE TIME. I swear, every single time I watch Ernie Els play golf he hits putts that are heading right at the hole and then die on the amateur side, just short of the hole. Someone needs to shake that guy and tell him to hit his putts just 6 inches further. If he had done that for his whole career he'd probably have 20 additional wins.

I actually couldn't believe it when I saw it yesterday. He must have had 10 of those that I saw. On the first playoff hole he has about 12 feet to win it and he comes up an inch short. Then on the second playoff hole he did the same thing. He must worry too much about 3 putting.

I think Tiger simply became too successful and too good in the eyes of everyone. I think this was self-sabotage on his part because he felt completely unbalanced in his role as a perfect human being.

In everyone's eyes he was the first perfect sports figure. He was the best that has ever been, he was intelligent, he didn't do drugs, he didn't get in the tabloids and he had a perfect marriage and was starting a family.

Nobody can be perfect and I think he couldn't take the stress of it any longer. He had to do something to balance things out.

These touring pros walk 4 rounds a day, hit countless balls on the range and, in Tiger's case, would run and workout for two hours per day. That's easily enough to create tissue damage.

Tiger's issues are definitely related to him lifting heavy weights and trqining too hard over a long period. I know guys who have lifted heavy weights in their teens and 20s who can barely walk in their mid to late 30s. OK, so he was a skinny kid when he won 3 US Amateurs, right after winning three consecutive 3 Junior Amateurs. I hardly see how Tiger Woods dressed any worse than any other tour pro at the time, with maybe the exception of Couples and Langer. Everyone back then wore big baggy shirts and Dockers style pants.

Tiger got in with some bad people. Everyone who he's had business or personal relationships has tried to take advantage of him. Butch Harmon made an empire by having Woods at his side and so has Haney. His former wife was obviously chasing the big dollars, as we can clearly see by her recent actions and who she's dating.

Trying to call me what I correctly labled you doesnt make it so. It also doesnt make you less of a redneck cracker hater with latent homosexuality. You just keep on hating annd maybe your buddies wont notice the way you mentally undress men. And remember its not their fault you're a faggott so stop blaming them and you might lose the hate. Arse clown.
Tiger isn't getting adulation, misses it and is reaching out. Particularly now when his obviously razor thin esteem is missing self-respect. I mean, that's so obvious I feel silly pointing it out.
Speaking of razors, I think the only way that Tiger can climb back up in esteem and results is if he stays clean-shaven in public. When he's got that goatee thing going, I enivision him in a hoodie captured on the counter camera while boosting a 7/11.

I'm glad Tiger missed the cut. Now I get to watch exciting players like Webb Simpson, D.A. Points and Ryan Moore. I tell you, that Ryan Moore sure knows how to dress. He must work out 2 hours a day. Webb Simpson must own a yacht or something. That's the only explanation I can think of as to why he wears clothing better suited to sailing than golf. There's a guy who's never seen the weight room.

I hope Ricky Fowler wins. We need someone who's somewhat interesting to breathe fresh air into the PGA Tour. Without Tiger, the tour's in trouble.

+1, FD. Tiger brought in crossover viewership. There's next to none, now.

+2 with Tiger playing and in contention golf on TV is interesting and entertaining. Without him it's a massive borefest .

I don't understand how people can think that Tiger is done. He just recently won a tournament and a good one at that. I don't think he'll ever dominate like he used to but surely you can't think he's "done".
