Don't buy from BHM golf
I bought 5 wood regular flex from him. It came in the mail and it was stiff flex. I called him to return it and he freaked out. He screamed obscenities at me until I hung up. He kept calling me and threating me. It was scary. Worst buying experience I have ever had. He is unstable. Claims he is PGA pro. Well the PGA should check this guy out.

I have seen multiple threads on this board and others about BHM golf. I have NEVER heard a single positive statement about this operation. It is amazing that they are able to stay in business. I guess they depend on an endless supply of first time bargain hunters. Their reputation is horrendous. Countless people report endless delays in receiving goods, goods shipped with the wrong loft, flex, and abominable customer support. They are reported to be exceptionally rude to people calling with questions. Unfortunately, your experience is by no means unique; it appears to be the rule, not the exception!
Fortunately, I have never had any personal dealings with them, but I feel for those who bought items in good faith, only to be abused by this sleazy outfit.

I emailed this guy to get a price quote, and mentioned to him that his rep on the message boards is really bad. Here's his reply:

"PRICES ARE THE BEST.... AND I WILL SERVE YOU THE BEST!"

Apparently not! Needless to say, thanks to your postings, I am going to pass up on my opportunity to buy from this guy, even though his price is attractive.

This BHM jackass does not stock anything, he takes your $, and has the companies drop ship the items.

I am glad you decided not to buy from BHM golf. I am trying to get the word out as much as possible and save people for a potentialy very bad experience. He is a nut and should be put out of business for his horrible customer service. It is the worst I have ever had !! There are so many better places to but equipment and if it costs you a few dollars more believe it will be worth it.
BHM GOLF HAS AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

I was just thinking to myself, "Why would he advertise low prices, yet take up to weeks to deliver the goods ordered, and sometimes try to slip the wrong loft or shaft flex to the buyer?"
Some have suggested that he really doesn't keep much of an inventory, but is it also possible that he is using distress sales or even e-bay sales as his source for many of the items he's "selling"? He'd have to wait until that item (or at least one close to what was ordered) was was both available and could be obtained at a low price. Hmmmmm....it would certainly explain a lot if that was true.........

I agree I am too senstive, but I just hate it when someone calls me "FCK" Face on the phone and I am 3000 miles away. It would not have bothered me as much if I could have been there in person. I think he would have shut his mouth sooner.

I agree. Brian Meyers is sleazy. I bought irons for my in-laws from him, but he didn't have them in stock. Over a period of months, he kept lying to me saying that they had shipped when they had not. I kept asking him to send me a FedEx ship verification, which he would not provide b/c he never shipped the items.

Finally, I asked my credit company to credit my transaction...thank goodness I used a credit card because he was trying to get me to make a direct debit from my checking account. Anyway, it took scores of phone calls (some very confrontational) and emails to finally get the irons. As he was yelling and swearing at me, he claimed I was the worst customer he ever had. I yelled back, telling him that I wasn't the one who been lying for months. Like any bully does when you stand up to him, he backed off and shipped my goods. Stay far, far away from him.

I should have checked here before I tried to buy from this guy. I was trying to track down a Tommy Armour 845u sand wedge. He had it cheaper than anywhere else, including Ebay. I never receieved a confirmation of my order so I called him a week later. "It's on its way. OK!" Was his answer. Three weeks later no club. So I call him up. After being put on hold for five minutes I politely tell him that I called to check up on my order. I told him the club I had ordered. He said it was "out the door." When I asked him the shipping date, "What's your 'f-ing' last name!!" was the response. I asked him what was his problem, and he just kept repeating, "What's your name! What's your name!" He then tried to claim that he was out of stock of that club and had refunded my paypal payment right after I ordered, and if I checked my email I would have known that. When I asked him for proof, he said he would call me back. Two minutes later I got an email from paypal with my refund. This is the worst customer service in the history of customer service. This beats the last time I went to Denny's and the waitress stopped in the middle of taking our order to answer her cell phone. Do not do any business with this guy!

Making a golfer wait for new equipment is an evil sin. And this guy is a rude lying ass to boot. Yup and he's in Chicago.

In the old days, somebody would take him down a dark alley for a few minutes and he'd come back with a couple of lumps on his face. He probably talk a couple of octaves higher too.

That would take care of it.

Brian and Jason "Same Guy?"
Whoa, what a page....BHM is going down.
Here's an email I just was forced to write.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Brian, ( I was told Brian was the owner).

I just experienced the worst treatment I have ever personally encountered in sales while trying to purchase a wedge from your web page. Jason was the person responsible. I was having difficulty finding prices for different cleveland wedges so I called the 800 number shown for your establishment. While surfing your page and speaking to Jason at the same time, he became noticeably agitated with my inability to follow his instructions and repeatedly excused himself from the line. I didn't see buttons labeled the way he said. When he mentioned the button was blue and I needed to add it to the cart to get the price I did so and saw the price for the 588's. I further began inquiring as to the difference between the 900 588 and cg10 cleveland wedges. While surfing I pulled a drop down menu for one of the clubs which revealed a list of different loft and left and right hand selections. I wasn't thinking clearly and thought outloud that those were unique and varied club lengths. Of course, in retrospect, I know how ridiculous that was. What I didn't expect was for Jason to poignantly express in the rudest of fashions how incredibly lacking I was. He then further suggested before doing business with you that I visit a local shop and research wedges because "It was obvious that I didn't know a damn thing about wedges and needed to educate myself", I thought thats what I was doing. You have a PGA professional emblem on your site.He further made an implication as to my lack of intelligence. What I'm sure is impossible for him to believe is that I am now preparing to take my PAT and pursue a career change as a golf professional. I am an avid golfer for the past 3 years and am no stranger to scratch and sub par rounds. I had enough of him at this time and politely said goodbye. After a few minutes I realized that I no longer wanted to do business with your company based on the way he treated me. I called back and told him that the manner in which he conducted himself had cost him a sale. I said it like a gentleman and hung up. A few minutes later, he must have accessed caller ID and called me back. My son answered the phone to a diatribe of cursing mockeries as to my lack of intelligence stating " I want a 64 inch wedge" " I don't know (&*(& about wedges"
"I'm just a big *&^^&%%" ....speaking in 3rd person plural of course.
The insults continued for a period of time before I picked up the phone and heard the tale end of it myself. It was to say the least not "A gentleman's game". My son by then had come down the stairs holding the phone in disbelief and amazement. Pretending he was me was infantile at best and totally lacking the professionalism the PGA emblem implies everywhere it is posted. I am seriously contemplating sending a copy of this letter to the PGA standards commission. He told me " I wouldnt sell you a &**^^*(( golf club if it meant bankruptcy" ...and then of course another onslaught of very creative language. I suggested that it hadn't taken much to push him into revealing his true self and that I was at this time going to pursue his superiors and recommend they become aware and change his behavior. He began his vulgarities again so I hung up. I tried calling back at the other number to try and reach Brian who I was told was the owner. Jason hung up on me twice. The second time he said he had called the Villa Park police and reported me for harassment. "A fox knows his own whole first". I called to find out if he indeed had done this. He had not. He did threaten me though that he was going to pursue having me arrested, that I was in violation of different felonies. They "the Villa Park police" did suggest that his calling me back was and that I should report his phone call as harassment to my local authorities. I have not in that I trust you and I can resolve this extreme breach of manners and unacceptable behavior.

Sincerest Regrets for an unfortunate introduction,

715-635-6452

P.S. I will continue to try and get in touch with you until this is resolved. This in not harassment. It is an attempt to avoid other avenues, like the better business bureau or the PGA.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Brian is now calling himself Jason. I have scary vision of him in a hockey mask.

He has just called my 7 or 8 times in the last half hour...so I did report him for harassment.
This is a guy who needs to be watched.

Not that I would deal with this BHM Golf, I deal with my local Pro Shops. However after reading the posts on this clown I went to his website. What's up with REQUEST THE PRICE? If he is supposed to have the lowest prices around then list the damn prices. I hate people who advertise something with "Call For Price" Just list the price and people can judge if you have the best price.
Maybe someone who has dealt with this guy and been ripped off should contact your Business Bureau. In Canada the Business Bureau handles complaint anyone might have about any business, whether retail, home improvements etc. Might be worth looking into if you have had a bad experience with BHM Golf. This BHM guy is a "trader" in golf equipment. He has the "request price" because he does not maintain an inventory and once you request a price for a particular item, he probably engages in looking for the lowest price he can find and reselling it to you for a slight margin. That also explains why he has a wait before he ships out your item. Its strange how this guy is even in business but there is a new "sucker" born every minute.

That's what I've always suspected, based on the tales of woe I've heard. Sometimes people wait 6 to 8 weeks for an item, and then it is the wrong loft or flex. Obviously, he got tired of hearing them complain and sent something similar (but not what they'd ordered) in hopes it would shut them up.

Most of the horror tales relate accounts of screamed obscenities, lies, and long delays in receiving merchandise. Often the merchandise received isn't what was ordered (wrong loft, wrong shaft, etc.) Usually, though, if the merchandise simply didn't ship, the person will receive a delayed refund, but after listening to multiple lies about "yes, it shipped on XXXX date". Keep bugging him; threaten him with complaints to the DA. You'll probably eventually get your money back or the merchandise promised.

BHM Golf - Be cautious with him
BHM is a small shop near Chicago in Villa Park. He does not carry all the merchandise shown on his site - no one could stock all of that. That is the first problem - people get the impression if you list it you stock it. It would be nice to for these guys to list what they want, but have the courtesy to mention what items are not standard stock items. The big problem with BHM is he does not have an account with all the manufacturers whose products he sells. (He does have a number of accounts, however) He relies on other stores to work with him, in some cases under the false impression he has an account or is an authorized retailer of that line. Rumor has it he has caused some stores or country clubs to lose a product line by working with him because of this. Apparently his father is a lawyer, perhaps that explains how he keeps this up. My suggestion - before you buy on the internet check with the manufacture to see if the seller is an authorized retailer. This will give you some leverage in the event things do not work out as expected.

This guy is a rip-off. DO NOT BUY FROM HIM! If you have been scammed by Brian please file a complaint with both the Villa Park PD at 630-834-7447 and with the FBI's internet fraud center at http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp. Reporting him to the BBB will not do any good. It's time we shut this guy down!

BHM GOLF is BAD NEWS - STAY AWAY
BHM GOLF sent the wrong golf club, and when I contacted them Brian said he would send me the golf club that I ordered, but he never did! Weeks later after filing a complaint with PayPal and the Better Business Bureau he refunded my money thru PayPal. During that time my son did not have a decent driver for two golf tounaments he had entered. BHM gives internet businesses a
BAD NAME!! He evidently makes this a habit and needless to say he will not get anymore of my or my freinds business!!!!!!!! VERY DISSATISFIED!!!

I am glad I am not alone on having a bad experience with BHM Golf, but this is outrageous and horrible how Brian handles business. I ordered some woods last month and they came in the wrong flex. It was very difficult to get a refund or exhange. Finally, after threatening filing a claim with PayPal, he refunded my money. Worst experience ever. Like everyone else mentioned, he might have the best prices, but I will shop elsewhere.

I called them to see why the price of a set of wilson irons showed a different price than the advertised price. I am not sure who i talked to but he was rude, kept grunting as if i was an idiot for not understanding. When i asked about their shipping policy I got the same kind of response. I was so irritated at his behavior that i just hung up on him. I had the BHM site saved in my favorites because the prices seemed low and I thought I might one day buy from them. After my experience, and reading the experiences of others I deleted the shortcut from my favorites, and I agree with others who suggest placing a sticky on this thread!

• 08-11-2006
dajamu
a thread is all the responses to the original note that was posted. if you look at the oringinal comment on BHM it was written way back in 2004(i think). thus all the following comments are considered the 'thread'.

a sticky just permanently keeps that "thread" or commentary at the very top of all the commentaries, otherwise it would slowly slide down the list of commentaries and be forgotten. a sticky is kinda like the sticky yellow notes you use to remind you of something important.

hope this makes sense.

BHM recorded phone conversation
Long story short, well not that short but it is pretty funny. If you want more details just ask and I'll send the whole story but this is when I started recording my conversation with Brian the owner of BHM golf LLC. This was our second converstation. The first was much the same before he hung up on me. At this point he has tried to get PayPal on the phone in a 3-way conversation.

BHM- “Verify what you have.”
ME- “Verify what.”
BHm- Verify your account or whatever.
ME- I have to give my password and all that?
BHM- It’s on your f***ing phone I can’t do anything.
ME- I guess I’m not understanding.
BHM- You have to give paypal your f***ing information.
ME- I’m not going to give my information over a 3 way phone call with you on the line.
BHM- You have to give them your f***ing information.
ME- “I guess you don’t understand. I’m not going to….”
BHM- “Do you want to talk to paypal or are you F***ing wasting more of my F***ing time? Just like you did the last F***ing 20 minutes? You’re a F***ing pencil neck geek that’s what you are.
ME- “Yes I know I’m a pencil neck geek but I was just calling back to make sure that I…
BHM- “Say goodbye….say goodbye…
Me- “I was calling back….
BHM- “Say goodbye…say goodbye…
ME- “I was just calling back to make sure that I got my refund. And I, I,….”
BHM- “Say goodbye…
ME- “And I guess you have gotten hostile.
BHM- “I guess paypal just said goodbye because you f***ing wouldn’t do anything. You just told me to call and you wasted more f***ing time. How’s that?”
ME- No, You said that you were going to get paypal on.
BHM- “What?”
ME- “You said that you were going to get paypal on.”
BHM- “I’m not f**ing doing it. You have to give the information I told you.
ME- But I’m not going to give my information.
BHM- “A pencil neck geek that’s what you are.
ME- “I’m not going to give my information to paypal over a 3-way call because you will have my information.
BHM- “I…you know what you don’t have to give any information because it’s through the f***ing phone. And you know what all you’re doin’ is asking them if you got a refund and you don’t have to f**ing verify anything. Do you think I’m going to give you my information? HELL F***ing NO.
ME- No, I don’t want your information.
BHM- No, you’re not getting f***ing anything because I don’t f***ing trust you.
ME- OK
BHM- I don’t f***ing trust you. You already have an email that the money has been refunded.
ME- “Well…..”
BHM- “Do you think I f***ing trust you. I don’t trust you more than I can f***ing throw you.
ME- “The first one looked….
BHM- “OH, you got me soooo f***ing pissed off that I’m ready to drive….
ME- “Ok the first email from paypal had their information and all of that on there and the second one had….the second one was just sort of….
BHM- “Ya, you know what
ME- “Yes?”
BHM- “Guess what?”
ME- “Yes?”
BHM- “It’s from paypal. It was refunded. Just like when you got a f***ing email that you paid me $349 I clicked on the link in my account. Just like you know paypal and it said f***ing refund and I refunded it because you said that you didn’t want it.
ME- “OK.”
BHM- “And you went and you f***ing said….Fine go ahead go and call your f***ing credit card company. It will hurt your f***ing credit too.”
ME- “NO, I…
BHM- “No because you’re a f***ing person that won’t f***ing resolve it with individuals. You go to f***ing somebody else to resolve it.”
ME- “No, I was trying to resolve this with you.”
BHM- “That is exactly what it is. You know what? You just f***ed somebody and I just want to let you know that.”
ME- “No, that’s…That’s why I called I wanted to resolve it with you.
BHM- “You know what you just f***ed someone. I was willing to f***ing give you $30 off because I already f***ing ordered it. And you said, “It’s Sunday night it can’t be f***ing ordered” well sir yes it is because I order everything via email. When I f***ing place orders via PO by email. You should know f***ing by UPS that they work electronically. You should know by f***ing if you really work for UPS.
ME- “Someone has to take the package…
BHM-“UPS is a central f***ing office because everythings done electronically.
ME- “Yes, but someone has to pick the parcel give it a shipping label and only then is it picked up by UPS.
BHM- “Guess what Sir…everythings done by electronics and it all goes in the process. You know what that process is already ordered. Ya, you know that unit is already ordered and if you get that unit I will sue you if you don’t return it.
ME- “So are robots going to…”
BHM- “I don’t have you card. I don’t have your charge…I don’t have your number. I refunded the transaction but I still have your address.
ME- “OK.”
BHM- “I can still sue.”
ME- “That’s fine.”
BHM- “And that’s what I’ll do.”
ME- “I….I’m glad that you have my information. That’s…that’s good. Uh, I can give it to you again if you don’t.”
BHM- “Ya, ya, you can call me back at this other number…630-279-7505. You can call me back at that number…goodbye.

Anyway, this is getting boring writing so to end. He called me back again when I did not call him back…More swearing and name calling. I then told him that I recorded our previous conversation (the one I transcribed above). He said it f***ing figure since I’m from Michigan. Told me that it is illegal to record conversations. Swears somemore then hangs up. He has now called back several times apologizing to me. He has offered the product at his cost. It is now getting annoying answering his calls about if I received the message about the lower price. How about the email. He’s sorry and is trying to change. He has had problems in the past and something about losing 125 pounds or something. I don’t know. I have just had a good laugh about all this.

I read the reviews and knew what was coming when I asked for the refund. I did call paypal and my credit card company and he did refund the payment for me.

I do have an idea that I think everyone should try as often as possible.

Invite some friends over for a few beers. Order the cheapest product on his website like a bag of tees or a glove, whatever. Drink a few beers with your friends then call and cancel your order using speaker phone. His antics could be the nights entertainment. It only cost you $10 or so if you don’t actually get the refund but you and your friends will get hours of entertainment listening to him go on and on. Trust me it’s funny. Just picture him getting red in the face, shaking, yelling profanities, pacing around in his A-shirt(wife beater) and boxers while you and your friends laugh at him on the other end of the line.

Hope others find this helpful.

I had read dozens of these posts about him over the last few years and I believe them...I "ACCIDENTLY" bought something from him off ebay a bit back. The seller wasn't listed as BHM or BHMGOLF so I was not aware of who I was buying from. It was a fairly new ebay listing as it only had a half dozen or so feedback, all positive. Anyway, it was a brand new Nike golf bag. I paid for it and it shipped in a day or two no problems...I was suprised! Anyway, I am wondering if he has anger issues like Bobby Knight. Be perfectly sane and courteous but then instantanously will lose it and go in a rage. I am just glad I snuck by with a good purchase....I will try not to order from him again.

It all goes back to the old adage "You get what you pay for." You, like everybody else on that website, went through a small-time online retailer to save what was probably a marginal amount of money, and it ended up biting you in the ass. In retrospect, I bet you, and everybody else who was had a bad experience with BHM, wishes they had paid that little bit more, and dealt with a reputable business such as Golf Galaxy or Golfsmith. Even shopping Ebay, and reviewing seller feedback would have been a much better option.

I see this everyday in my profession. Our company is the leader in our industry, and thousands of our customers have stories about fly-by-night outfits who do horrible work. Our prices are a little bit higher than our competitors, but for that money, you get the best service possible, provided by the best people available. We've been in business for over 50 years. You cannot be in business as long as we have, and be as successful as we are, if we were a company you couldn't trust, and depend on. The same is true of any business.

Buy the best, from the best, whenever possible. I never buy anything from some hole-in-the-wall outfit. Established businesses have something to lose if their service is poor, and will lose everything if it's fraudulent. Buy smart, not cheap.

The feedback on E-Bay provides some of the best control over with whom you're doing business. But you have to know how to read and interpret the feedback. Like it or not e-commerce's share of what is bought and sold will skyrocket over the foreseeable future.

This must be such a common occurance to him that he'll actually have to look through his records to try to find my e-mail address. I'll probably get an e-mail asking for clarification, since I gave him no useful or definitive information.
Good. He'll have one more potentially angry customer to deal with, even if the customer is fictitious.
In any case, it will be a distraction at potentially the busiest time of the year.

If he gets multiple e-mails like this, he may figure out that it is an organized campaign to annoy him, which should make him even more suspicious and less cooperative with the real customers he is already mistreating.

Merry Christmas, BHM

I am not sure if I should be filled with outrage at the fact he emailed me, when I ordered him not to, or what... Sounds like he gave up with the FBI comments...

Any ideas?

P.S. This dude actually started his own blog on his problems with BHM: http://bhmgolfsucks.blogspot.com/2007/12/refund-going-to-paypali-didnt-order.html

tier23, just a little piece of friendly advice, it's probably not a good practice to record a conversation without someone knowing it. I can totally understand your frustration with BHM, but don't give him any real ammunition against you. You know how you get theat little message or disclaimer from let's say the cable or phone company that says, "This call may be recorded for quality control purposes?" There is a very good reason for that. Illegal wiring tapping, which is what it falls under, is a Felony in Maryland. I'm not sure of the statute in Michigan. Please be careful. At least research it before you do it. Again, I just don't want you to give him any ammo.

Grow some balls and email the bastard. It has only been a week since I emailed him to stay away from my employee...

You can be my angry boss, that looked at my emails at a business trip in Hawaii, or something?... :(

If you can't come up with any ideas, then I will give you a bunch...

If this is right in your wheelhouse, then put your money where your mouth is, and let's get this started up again!
Remember, I was the employer of the kid above that started with him.

Don't wuss out on this Lloyd.

I love the 'I'm such an Idiot!' pic too.

Maybe this BHM character has been having some trouble with shipping orders to Australia. I'll email him over the weekend and let you all know what I get from him. I work in an office that has lots of legal eagles so I may attach a letter of demand from my attorney.

GA's still doing his research on sex changes. I guess it makes sense. If you put Mom & Dad's good money down on getting your manhood (potential manhood?) wacked off, you should get what you pay for.

I don't care if you tell BHM I licked your balls and kissed your ass...

Just "man up" and email him, you little chickensh!t...

If you want to girl up, instead, that's fine by me... just don't go throwing flippant remarks around about how this stuff is in your wheelhouse, and then back down like a scared ass caddie kid...

What is going on in this thread, sadly, appears to be out of your league. That makes me sad, so I will give one last attempt to encourage you...

--------> Come on dude. Do it.

That sounds cool NaH!

Tier23, thanks for sticking it to the bastard, BHM...

Horseballs, Dorkman, I, and the original poster all had the nutsack to contact this bastard... Not a Hacker, I look forward to whatever you decide to do.

Dorkman, thanks for manning up.

Horseballs, dude, thanks for getting this really started! ..

(Lloyd, since this is out of your league, at least remove yourself from future conversations in this thread, if possible.)
