Kiwi Amateur Lydia Ko leads in Canadian Women's Open - tonyj5 where are you on this?

Since tonyj5 is clearly shirking his responsibilities and knowing how much interest there is in womens golf on this GR forum it was left up to me to point out this tremendous performance by talented Kiwi amateur 15-year-old Lydia Ko who currently leads the Canadian Women's Open. My heart is bursting with pride that this home grown, typical Kiwi girl is performing so admirably on a world stage.

She doesn't look like a native Kiwi. But then I guess the only real natives are the Maori. So good on her. You go girl and whup their arses. Tony may have a problem with international border crossings.

So female NZers look like that too? Oh, goody.

Only fifteen. Hell of a job. NZ done good.

This 15 year old amateur won by three shots after bogeying the 18th. Amazing talent. I've seen her play live and her calm, relaxed demeanor is amazing for a kid that young. She has a beautiful swing too. The only drawback I can see is that she putts left hand low which we all know is gay. But I guess for women golfers it's Ok.

She's certainly no hottie but she's not hideous like the example FD has posted.

For someone as old as you claim to be (and look), you haven't obtained the fruits of wisdom that often come from the passing of years.

You accept certain things as fact. Sex sells. Pretty people are more successful. You can argue whether this is equitable, but you cannot argue the validity.

On the other hand, I will not pass judgements on whether a snaggle-toothed 15 year old is attractive. 15 is just way too young, unless the girl is just undeniably hot, like a Miley Cyrus or Punky Brewster.

I can't believe I'm saying this, probably the beer and weed. But, at 15 she, it, or whatever, she puts the ball in the hole.

Lydia Ko was on the news tonight saying she wants to represent NZ in the 2016 Olympics. She'll be the grand old age of 19 by then. I think golf in the Olympics is a ridiculous concept myself but if she can win another medal for NZ to help improve our worldwide per capita medal domination then I'll take it. :D
