    low launch shaft

ive got a snake eyes viperti driver that i am hitting too high. it has a pretty soft, mid-launch shaft in it and is a very large head (430cc) that tends to have a high initial launch. any favorite low launch shafts out there? playing characteristics of some of your favorites to share?

    thanks folks!

    My Favorite Shaft

I would have to say the aldia NV green is by far my favorite. I use it in my Sonartec 3 wood and in my 2 drivers i have the 65 in my R7 and the 55 gram in my 983K in all 3 clubs it holds the ball down nice but still has a nice feel not to stiff. you should notice more distance as well with the nice release this shaft gives you, just my 2cents-Blademan

    For woods...

Is the UST ProForce 65 outdated? Man that shaft is the bomb... My driver and 3 wood have the Harrison Striper. I gained distance with both.

I also nominate the Aldila NV shaft - I have a stiff 75 in my R540 which has 10.5 degrees loft. I find that the shaft counteracts the loft so that I have a nice trajectory when I hit it right out of the center.

Used to have a ProLaunch in there that was just way too high...

I put a Grafalloy Blue shaft into my GBBII and have never looked back. I naturally hit a high, boring drive, but found the stock shaft way too high. After installing the Blue, i found myself hitting more fairways and gaining alot of distance (some of which i will attain to confidence).
The Blue is alot stiffer than it is labelled though. The stiff is almost a x-stiff and the regular plays almost a stiff.
I've never played the NV, but heard nothing but good things about it.
I average about 290 off the tee, and hit my 5 iron about 175-180 most days.

It seems like you need a shaft with a higher bend point. Look into the Golfsmith site and you should find some choices there. Personally, I had a 3wood that was going too high and reshafted with a grafalloy prolite 35. It did indeed fix the flight. Just be careful not to go too stiff for your swing or you will also enhance a slice. The grafalloy site will also explain the choices.
