    DG vs. rifle

A couple weeks ago i recieved my Nike pro combo irons off of ebay. This is my first forged set and i love the feel. I do think my ball flight is a bit too high though and have read that the stock shafts (nike step steel stiff) are more of a beginners shaft with a mid to high kickpoint. Im seriously considering reshafting to either the rifle 5.5 to 6.0 or Dynamic Gold s300. Id love any feedback comparing teh shafts. I hit my 8 iron 155-160 and 3 iron 210.

Rifles tend to have lower kickpoints that produce higher ball flights. However, their flighted versions have varying kickpoints to produce lower trajectories in the short irons, and higher trajectories in the long irons.

Also, Rifle 5.5 are most similar in flex to the S300.

    What is a kickpoint?

I'd appreciate if someone would describe what kickpoint means...

Kickpoint is the same term as bendpoint, the point of a shaft where most bend occurs. You can see if your shaft has high, mid, or low kickpoint by bending the club holding head and grip. If the shaft most bends near head, it has low kickpoint, and so on.
Lower kickpoint tends to produce higher ball trajectory.

Bendpoint alters trajectory, probably. If it does effect trajectory, it is usually minimal. When we see the terms high, low, mid, etc what we don't realize is that the difference between high and low is usually about an inch to 1 1/4". www.swingweight.com is an excellent site to understand the effects, and maybe the extent of effects, the shaft qualities have on your shot.
