Project X shafts are extremely butt stiff, mid bend mid tip shafts. They are designed for players with faster tempo's and an aggressive move at the top.

    Dennis,

How's that AP1/Proj. X 5.5 setup working for you? It's the exact setup I'm looking into-- loved the Proj. X 5.5 in the AP2 but want more forgiveness.

So just curious, why did you choose cast over the forged AP2?

Not sure whether the question is addressed to me or to Dennis-- if to me, I am leaning toward the AP1's because I need/want the additional forgiveness of the larger more game improvement iron. I don't get to play enough these days to play AP2s on a regular basis.

Darn- I was hoping you didn't like them so you would sell them to me. Just kidding!

Do you remember if Titleist upcharged you for the Proj. X shafts? If so, do you recall how much per club?

    Thanks!

I guess it was for Dennis since he already got a set but it was good to get your input as well.

I guess it's good that you know your game and have tried both leading you to find the more suitable club. I guess what it comes down to for me is feel. I haven't tried either the AP1 or 2 but can't imagine going back to cast after having my 690.CB's now for a while.

AP2 is forged. Not sure about AP1.

Adam Scott went to the AP2 I believe... it looks from address like a real players club with a slightly thicker topline than a true blade.. can't see that box from address position...

    Looks hittable to me... :-)

ap1 is not forged. ap2 is a great looking club that probably 15 of titleists endorsed pros are using. billy mayfair is using the ap1 irons i think.the ap1s feel great though.
