Cart Bag - Mizuno Sora?
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum...but just wondering if a cart bag or a stand bag would be better for me.
Found a women's cart bag on craigs list but don't know if I should opt for a stand bag instead since I am more on the petite side. Figure a stand bag would be easier to carry esp. to the range. Still working on my shots and trying to improve so I go to the range more often than to the courses.
Do people normally try to "match" their clubs with their bags? Is it really that ugly if it doesn't match, but totally clashes?
thanks in advance....

I walk courses almost exclusively so I bought a stand bag. Stand bags are very comfortable and you can carry everything you need and walk right up to your ball set your bag down look at your lie then choose your clubs. You can also bring a stand bag right up to the green and put it down just off of the skirt. I've used it on a cart before and didn't find it inconvient at all. Having owned both types of bags I would say get a stand bag. I don't know that I would get one to match my club set. Unless you know that you'll use that particular set of clubs for many years to come. I would just buy a cheap stand bag off of Ebay (60 bucks gets a nice bag) and not worry about whether or not they match your clubs.

it makes absolutely no difference what name bag u have... find the bag that offers everything u need from it.. i would highly suggest a stand bag over a cart - they offer plenty of room for everything u NEED without being cumbersome.
welcome to the site and enjoy your stay.... please tell me u are not easily offended... the guys on here can me a little harsh, it's all just innocent picking but some can be put off by it.

No offense taken....just tell it as it is. Thanks for the inputs, I'm gonna go with a stand bag.

I have the Ogio Grom stand bag. It's awesome. It has a strap that attatches it to the back of the cart to keep it from twisting when you put it in a cart. I personally think it's the best stand bag that does well in a cart also.
BTW- welcome aboard. Bring your sense of humor with you when you come to this forum.
also- it's nice to see a first time poster here who isn't trying to plug a website.

The Grom is a good bag BUT
1. it's heavy for a stand bag
2. the leg mechanism really sux, you have to not only sit it down, but push down to get the legs to extend.
The Ping Hoofer vantage bag is like way more awesomer.
Be glad we aren't getting all of the government we're paying for.

Just get a Ping Hoofer or an Ogio and call it a day....

I can see how it snapped....Ive snapped a hoofer with a swift swat at it with a driver.......then my driver snapped in my downswing on the next hole (hit it very solid but blocked it and ended up on the o.o.b line, called competitors over as I was unsure if on the line was out or in....its in and I made a good par....)

In response to the question of matching bags and clubs, I actually think it looks a little tacky to have everything that does match. The guy who arrives on the first tee decked out in the same brand gear from top to toe and right through the bag is usually a good mark if you want to make some money, unless of course he has his name printed on the bag in which case he's a pro and to be avoided in money games.

Your bag should match your skirt.... tight and so short that a stripper would blush. Color should explode when hit with black light. With these considerations taken you couldn't lose in a match-play event, Make sure everything matches, I mean everything baby doll!

haha, the hoofer is lighter & has a MUCH better stand mechanism. due to the bottom design, it rides straight on a cart w/out sliding around like most stand bags do.

Touch of class, Neverman. The curtains MUST match the drapes.
I often wonder why we don't have any female posters on GR...

Yeah, but does the hoofer have the Zipper-less ball pouch? (That sounds dirty) Thats what sold me on the Grom. I'm a sucker for gimmicky sh!t like that.
The Grom is a bit heavy for a stand bag, but it must be noted that I have the strength of 10 men so that really isn't a factor.

5% chance I'm wrong but w/ a user name of itstangy..... I figure this is a bored regular member. On the off chance that I'm wrong and there's an actual female on the other end of this posting, my advice stands as sincere and timely.

Female here! I hope you are not a poker player or any type of gambler cuz you were 100% wrong!! =X Thanks for such informative/funny responses....I went for the Ogio Diva bag that completely and horribly clashes with my clubs (completely matching is totally tacky, I agree!). I hope I love the bag and it will be light weight...or else I'll just disappear while carrying it...
