Shaft Flex
Recently changed my irons from macg m455's to nvg2 mids in a regular flex, but when i received them the 5i,9i and pw had a regular sticker on them and the 6i,7i and 8i had a stiff sticker on them. Showed them to a couple of mates and we all thought that all the shafts feel the same and i cant tell the difference when i hit them. Anyone know of any way i could tell if they are all regs or indeed a mixed set? Doesn't really bother me as they play great (its just another one of those things that sits in the back of most golfers heads )

I suggest you take the stickers with R on them off, then everyone will assume you play 'stiff' so not a chopper.
But in answer to your question, your pro shop should be able to help you out. Or if that fails, any clubfitter has the equipment to check it and will usually check them for free.

Simple, when you hit 40 common sense USUALLY over-rides your ego
Just had thought N.A.H - if i can cut the "x" off flex on the regulars i may be able to turn the stiff into x-stiff! Then all my golfing mates will end up with new irons that won't suit them and i'll be able to keep up with them once again. Thanxs for the advice

Glad I could help out. Golf is like life. It's all about image what people think you are playing.

a lot of that depends on your swing type as well as your swing speed, as far as driver is concerned, you should play the least amount of flex as you can keep in play so you can get max distance.
Be glad we aren't getting all of the government we're paying for.

Is that why you guys are so obsessed with blades.

What's amazing is, every now and then I pick up someone else's sticks at the range.. if I get regulars in my hand, I consciously think about swinging around 75% to make sure I don't overpower the shaft... when I do that, I hit it so flush and it flies so nice, hard to miss that way!
I should try skirts, wigs and L clubs, and play on Ladies' Day. I'm certainly not as fat, ugly or masculine as SOME of my fave LPGA stars.
