Oversize Putter Grip
Have you experience a good or bad result in using an oversize grip?

I've got a very fat grip, room for both my thumbs side by side on the top.. and I have to say it really works.. keeps my wrists from trying to pop through the stroke, and because I can have both hands side by side it really helps alignment too..
one of the best gimmicks in the game, IMHO. the standard skinny grip just gives me fits. Or else I'm already HAVING fits and the skinny grip doesn't help me control them, lol!

I have this on my 2 bar:

and this on my Taylormade:

I Just prefer the larger grip as my fingers feel more comfortable and relaxed. It's just a personal thing. I have bigger than normal grips on all my clubs.

If you read my post it says "2 thumb grip". KJ uses a large fat round Tampon style thing, not a 2 thumb grip, and i agree KJ is cool.
Therefore "2 THUMB GRIPS" are reserved for CHOPPING, MANBOOBED, GAY BOY, BUM BANDITS.
I would respectfuly request you read my posts correctly.

I have a slightly oversized grip on my putter. I find it is just a bit more comfortable. However, I'd bet I could putt equally well (or equally poorly) with a huge putter grip or a skinny putter grip. In my modest opinion, the putter grip may affect your comfort, and perhaps because of that you might sink one or even two more putts a week... although, I'm not convinced its that high a number.
Either you are a good putter and you putt well with anything, or you aren't a good putter and you desperately seek for the next new thing or new gimmick to turn you into Jack Nicholas, Tom Watson or Tiger Woods. My guess is spending a half hour every other day working on some simple putting drills and lo and behold all of a sudden which ever grip you have on your putter, you start to improve.

heh heh I am getting the distinct feeling that you are kind of HOPING I'm gay, which is disturbing. But the Moobs I'll admit to. In fact I probably wear a Mansiere larger than Monty's.
Don't you be getting aroused by my talk of my large moobs, me old pouf. :-)

I am using the oversized putter grip (Winn - Black color), I believe it's the same one that Jim Furik (sp?) is using. Bought it at Golf Galaxy for $7.49 and love this grip

I figured out why I was so drawn to the large, extra thick putter grip. Reminds me of my schlong. As the old burger king advert sang, "it takes two hands to handle a whopper"..

What ever? 2 thumb grips look very similar to the pure stroke KJ putter grip.

I have never meet this problem, I suggest you pull three putts in a row, and then push the next two, or some similarly distressing pattern. No matter what you try your putts won't start on line consistently.

Thanks for sharing the ideas. It helps people who are facing this problem. Proper gripping of the putter is just like the predictable way of holding it. It's just how the person will perform the task. Most putters are not grip friendly because they are made out of different material, and some are also heavy for little hands to hold it. Most heavy putter grip is proposed for men.

I have a Royal Jumbo grip on my putter and like it alot. As Dave said, the larger grip takes the wrists more out of the stroke. It also relaxes the muscles in the forearms, as a skinny grip automatically engages these muscles just by gripping the club.
I agree K.J. Choi is pretty cool. If he ever gave up golf he could get a job as A James Bond super villian, he looks mean and almost maniacal.
Hey Joel, stop spamming for golf town you little piece of sh!t. You're supposed to stop that sort of thing happening, not join in.
