Hot Cart Girls - an endangered species?

Last couple of times I got out I noticed a disturbing trend ... the resort courses I was playing have seemingly done away with hot cart girls!

Maybe this reflects the economy, and since fewer rounds are being played the girls can make much more money stripping, as escorts or some other "cart-girl equivalent" position, but come on... the courses need to step up here - cut maintenance - don't clean the bathrooms - whatever it takes ... but y'all need to keep the tamele on the beer cart.

For a resort course, this is unacceptable. I would complain to management.
My course has terrible cart girls. One is a 40 year old bald guy with a goatee and the other is a troll who never makes the rounds.

there are many strip clubs in portland. Probably 2nd or 3rd per capita city in the US. So why would I go to a golf course to see a clothed girl when I can go to a strip club and see bare ladies? Makes no sense to me. There is a mini here in portland that hires strippers cart gilrs although they are fully clothed there not shy to tell you when and where they are on stage.

I'm more shocked than anything. In Oz, there wouldn't be enough vegans in the entire country to patronize even one club. We are still in the dark ages here when it comes to some things.

One of my friends took a girl he met from a remote redneck central oregon town to this club. They walked in and one of the strippers walked up to her, pulled down her low cut shirt and licked her breasts and said welcome to the devils club. the look on m friend girl's face of pure amazement. I wish I was there....

That website of golfcartgirls had a lot of winners from Lake Jovita. I'm rather surprised by that as I've never been impressed by their chicks. I've got a tee time there on Monday, I'll see if I can provide more evidence to back my findings.

The difference with the Portland showgirls is that the clothes they strip off consist of a Patagonia fleece jacket, Jeans and Birkenstocks...only to reveal the milk-white, pasty skin. They also toss aside their Peet's Coffee.

Actually Dave, I find quite the opposite of our local media. What you said may have been true 10 or 20 years ago, but since John Howard relaxed the old cross media ownership laws a few years ago, the Capitalists have bought up big, and now control what goes into the 'news'. The result is a complete lack of journalistic integirty where the so called news is little more than opinion pieces form the big Corporates who are in bed with the media owners, with little or no research or comments from the other side of the stories they run. I read somewhere recently that the Australian media is about ranked number 30 something in the world for being independent from governement and other influences. Our media is little more than a tool used by government and the big corporates to brainwash the population. It is quite depressing reading some of the stories they run as news, I usually just go straight to the Sports pages.

Actually HS, I've read that in Oregon there are what are called 'othodox' vegans, who are ultra hard core vegans who go to great lengths to avoid any animal products. Apparently they don't use cash notes because your treasury uses ink with animal products on the notes, and they refuse to use credit cards because of the gelatin in the plastic. Apparently they pay all their bills by coins, and can be easily spotted by the large callico bags full of coins they carry around with them. I'd imagine being a stripper in a vegan club in Oregon would have a whole different set of risks when it comes to having money thrown at them.

Here in Canada, we have a cable channel which was created and funded by the cable companies, for the benefit of all Canadians. it's called CPAC (Canada's Public Affairs Channel), and it presents political affairs with the most neutrality of all of our media. All you get are the facts - none of the smear, none of the talking points or partisan BS - just the truth. You can make up your own mind about issues - there are no agendas being rammed down our collective throats. It may be the only true bastion of media neutrality in existence on the entire planet.

Having access to a non-partisan media resource such as CPAC really opens your eyes to how truly partisan most of the world media really is. Sure - you'll get facts from them... but only the facts that support their partisan bias while they completely ignore or even worse attempt to wrongfully discredit any fact or truth which could potentially hamper their political agendas. Both sides are equally guilty of this deception in Canada - albeit nowhere near to the degree that the US networks attempt. There really isn't a more adequate word to describe most US networks' bias than BLATANT. You have to be really partisan - or really STUPID to not see it on both sides.

It's too bad truth isn't yet a valuable commodity. If people were actually interested in the truth, maybe they'd hear it once in awhile.

This is unfortunatrely a very accurate picture of the modern world media. In Australia we have a governemnt run TV station, the ABC, which tries to present unbiased views, but even they seem to produce more facts that support their agenda in their stories. The thing that really bugs me about modern journo's is their complete lack of curiosity when conducting interviews. When reading or watching the interviews, you notice so many opportunities to ask obvious questions that are either overlooked by inexperienced journos, or not asked because the journo is gagged. Either way, it's very frustrating watching or reading the news if you have even the slightest of inquisitive minds.
