Good call on that Par 3, Kiwi, OP definitely pulled the hacker move of taking a lot of time to examine the line of the putt and then he ended up missing it.

OP, how much does the camera man know about the GR forum? Does he read it sometimes or did you just tell him about it?

might I just take this moment to say thanks to the good Mick Dundee for not just doing this, but embracing it... he added a lot of fun.

Actually, if I interpreted the accent correctly, Kiwi addressed him as "larry." Did Larry take the trip from California to down under to film this event?

I've only told him about it but I have been sending him the links to these threads so he is being exposed to the culture of GR. He is a pretty normal, civil, human being so I'm not sure how well he would fit in around here. He does love his golf though; and is developing an interest in equipment (read potential ebay ho) so he may register and join in. Perhaps his user name should be "Crododile Mick".

He sure did. He was great company and really got in the spirit of the occasion. He played most holes in between filming us whilst racing around in a cart. Pretty decent golfer too.

This certainly supports my theory, which is that just under the surface of an unusually nice guy is a real bastard fighting to get out.

Yeah and then Mick shoots me down by pointing out that my GIR is about 1 out of 14 i.e. approx 7% in other words inversely proportionate to Larryrsf.

Thanks for the support Kiwi but I am the first to admit I am rather lacking in the style department. I've given up trying to be something I'm not years ago; so what you see is what you get. I'm just a working man who dosen't even own a suit, so I am used to copping comments an my attire. The popped collar actually keeps the sun from burning the crap out of the back of my neck; so it has a purpose.
The trip to Barnbougle was very good. My play was very patchy but the conditions were great. Temperature in the mid to low 20's, sunny with light breezes.
On viewing the video I can see i wasn't swinging it too well on the day of our match. i actually stuffed up quite a few holes. must have been the pressure of the day. I went out and shot 75 today with a double on the last. sh!t!! I have played 9 days out of the past 14 so I guess if you can't feel comfortable and play well after that you never will.
Semi retirement is sweet. I will have to do more of that.

Certainly was. OP was making plenty of fashion statements out there. Not sure what he was trying to say, but he certainly stands out form the herd.

Actually, I pop the collar some days too when it gets real hot, but I would neveer do that in a GR match with the cameras rolling. I think OP needs a stylist, or needs to go back over the Matchplay Strategies and Camilo Wow threads

You'll have to excuse the Purist, he's still trying to decide whether he has had the gay gene passed down to him, or not.

Fine for you to say that now, but where were you when Noshuz' was getting hourly wedgies over his jeans and saddle shoes leading to his picking up his toys and going home?

If having an eye for style is wrong...I don't want to be right.

I give you a B+ on your attire Kiwi. With one minor tweak, you could move into the A range. Lose the white ankle socks with the black outfit...Put on some black ankle socks (the kind that barely clears the shoe) and you will be good to go.

Yeah the shorter socks would be a good idea. I actually really like the black shoes with black trousers in winter here but not so much with shorts. They are Adidas and very supportive which I need as I have a bad pronation when I walk which would lead to injuries if I wore crappy shoes. I bought a pair of white Footjoys that were more casual/cross trainer style for wear in summer with shorts but they were not supportive at all even with orthotic inserts so I returned them after wearing them just twice.

It occurs to me that being inversely proportionate to Larry might be a character reference.

TP, that's funny to everyone who's not a New Yorker. A New Yorker just thinks he's being normal.

That sketch is the first thing I though of when I read the post about the collar. I was going to post, "Yeah, this collar's popped" but I didn't think anyone would get it with the possible exception of FD.

I think black trousers/black crew neck with white shoes/black modified saddle is best, but ONLY with black socks. Lifting a trouser leg and showing white socks with that ensemble would be way more Jerry Lewis than Michael Jackson.

And these days even a Michael Jackson vibe is way uncool.

I'm proud to say I was one of Shuz' main critics for the infamous saddle shoes/jeans/windbreaker ensemble.
