Here's #14 - a beautiful Par 4 with a 100 foot drop from an elevated tee.
This is a relatively short hole. Difficulty created by a green that is juxtaposed at a difficult angle to fairway approach. (Dont have a picture for you though)
hole #5 seems nice but where's the mountain you mentioned? ;)
a while back you called me out for some good pics from the west coast and so far i've got nothing. these pics should help remind me to take my camera next monday (11/15) when i'm up at the half moon bay golf links. from what i hear and see it's a pretty nice track so i'm fairly anxious to get out there and play it.

Hello. Haven't talked with you in awhile...
I've traveled all across the country.
Mountains in the Western US - such as what you have in California and in Colorado/Montana are much bigger and sharper than the Applalachians..which are kind of round shouldered and lower.
So that ridgeline you see behind the green is...Oak Mountain.
Kind of an Applachian version of a mountain.
The camera did not do it justice. On the other hand - it aint like being in Vail Valley.
Just showing the course for whatever its worth - or Not.

yeah, i was just giving you a hard time.
those are some great pics and the hole w/ the 100ft drop is just crazy!
btw, i finally took your advice and got a darn lesson! all i can say is, i should have taken one a long time ago! while my scores haven't moved too much the ratio of quality shots has gone way up. the most major change the pro made was getting my hands in front of the ball at address. i had no idea that's where they're supposed to be! that one tweak added heigth, distance, and consistency to ALL my clubs! i actually can hit my 3, 4, and 5 irons now!

Hey great....
That Set-up issue is critical. I spend so much time here trying to get people to understand that grip and set up are really important.
If your hands aren't ahead, you'll never strike the long shafted clubs crisply.
Would love to see Half Moon Bay. We drove up California 1 two years ago from Monterey to SF and passed through there.
mikalion - i feel for you as i'm a muni player too. next week i'm playing half moon bay because subaru of america is having a customer appreciation tournament. hey, you just can't pass up a free day of golf at such a beautiful location!
bravo - i've done quite a bit of traveling in the US too and i think california's major appeal is its diversity. we have every climate in this state. i do my skiing up in tahoe and spend my xmas down at my folks in palm springs. the rest of my time is spent in the bay area which is a great place to be if you can get passed the cost of living!

You really Do have it all. Everything from searing hot desert to snowy mountains and beaches.
A beautful central valley filled with agriculture.
And overall - the nicest year round climate down in San Diego. Set thermostat on 72 and leave it alone....
This sounds like an offer only Spank would suggest.
Its uncanny how he gives himself up. His content is consistent from identity to identity. A post two days ago about exercise equipment and his back muscles cinched it for me....

Let's go back to the Topic of Screen Name Amnesty.
How many have you had?
Give it up.
Dude, I first came upon this site approx. a month ago looking for reviews on sonartec 3 and 5 wood. After reading your forums, I decided to join and I have been very active in this site since then. Since I dredge Tiger, I decided on this rather asenine I.D.
These days I have been pissed not golfing due to the weather and just hitting range balls ain't cutting it. I'm addicted to golf and I really need my fix. Anything else Sir???

Couldn't afford it though....
hah, i think that's the very first time i've heard somebody call the central valley beautiful!
i agree 100% with the San Diego climate although i think i prefer the silicon valley as there's a little more change from season to season. i'd like to actually visit other parts of the country for that one reason, change of seasons. although, i don't know how i'd like all the inclimate weather the east coast receives every year.

Speaking of weather and change of seasons...here's a bit of trivia.
The only part of the country that follows the Earth Science calendar - is where I live. We have four - 3 month seasons.
Spring usually starts in mid-March - Spring Equinox is March 21.
Summer - weather really gets hot and stays hot is late June - Summer Solstice 6/21
Fall - Really nice long, dry, clear Fall starts in mid-September - Fall Equinox 9/21
Winter - Consistently cold(er) weather starts around Christmas - Winter Solstice 12/21
The section of the country where this applies starts in Savannah GA, runs through Atlanta, Birmingham, Jackson MS and over to Dallas.
Right now is my favorite time of the year. Beautiful warm days and cool nights.
Courses are still lush and the greens are perfect. Putting fast and true....
