    Life isn't that precious

In light of the Jerry Sandusky case and Colorado theater shooting, my mind immediately goes to 'these guys should be put to death'. However, I looked up how many people were injected last year and it stood at a paltry 43. Seriously? There were only 43 people who committed crimes worthy of permanent sleep? We should pay to keep the rest of the murderers, rapists, and pedophiles alive for the next 50 years? I get the wrongfully convicted argument, but surely there are more people like Sandusky and the Colorado d-bag who leave no doubt in anyone's mind that they don't belong here.

What justification is there to keep these people alive?
    I keeps it real.

It's cheaper to keep then in lock down than to kill them. Sad but true.

Life is no different than any other commodity.

It must be valued in QUALITATIVE terms.

The lethal injection system used for capital punishment is not the humane lethal injection that we give to terminally ill pets. It's a brutal, painful death, but the sick viewer doesn't have to watch any writhing and thrashing because a paralyzing agent is used.

If we replace execution with humane euthanasia, maybe we'd have the stomach to use it when required.

All Americans are not cretinous Texans, and we don't all subscribe to primitive biblical concepts of guilt and innocense. But we all want to purge our society of dangerously sick people. Humane lethal injection is the answer.

Justice could be served by putting Gerry Sandusky and Jimmie Holmes in the same cell, a 10' x 10' box without windows with reinforced concrete walls. The shooter would have his arms cut off and Sandusky would be fed a goodly dose of Cialis with every meal. Needless to say, the Joker could no longer pull any trigger but Sandusky would have a hole to fill. Mongrel's version of Hell on Earth.
Mostly Taylormade clubs now except for two Ping I25 hybrids, Mizuno 54 & Callaway 56 wedges.

Justice would only be served in this scenario if Sandusky has a prince albert piercing with his penis tied to his thigh.

Even Texas has switched to an overdose of something like Michael Jackson took. Pleasure, then sleep, then death.

THE REASON the death penalty is so expensive is lawyers. States are required to fund thousands of hours of free legal work to defend a death penalty criminal. That is not required for life terms.

That is because there has been mistakes in convictions. "Oops, I'm sorry" doesn't help someone 6 feet under. So, instead we spend more money making sure someone is guilty to execute them. Just let them rot in jail.

There are much cheaper alternatives of course. For example in socialist Nazi Germany they would just put them before a trumped up 'Peoples Court' before hanging them with piano wire.

In Afghanistan public stoning is still the preferred method. It's pretty cheap if you make the public bring their own rocks but alternatively you can make money by insisting that the public only use rocks sold at the event. These of course are sold at extortionately high prices. A bit like Callaway golf clubs.

In the USSR the firing squad was popular. This is appropriate in this case. We can use the perpetrators own weapons and some of the left over rounds of ammunition from the 6,000 rounds he recently purchased.
I chose the road less traveled.

Now where the f#ck am I?

Government has become too corrupt and inept to be in charge of any kind of death penalty. The responsibility is too great, and the consequences too extreme. Mistakes are made all the time, and its usually the poor who cannot afford adequate representation that suffer the most. A society without the death penalty sounds much healthier and civilized too me. The more accessible you make the death penalty, the more likely you'll find law makers looking to expand its use criteria.

All you need to do for the scumbags who dodged the death penalty and are serving life is to put them into the General Population and find a guy who is handy with a shank. Might cost the government two cartoons of premium cigarettes per week.

    Classy.

America has truly become a nation of troglodytes, the vast majority of us included. What American isn't a scumbag? Michael Moore, maybe?

No point caring about this sh!th*le anymore.

The only reason I bother to show up at the polls and vote the far left side of the ballot is that it gives me a mild feeling of superiority over the less enlightened!

    Thank you, Purist.

I would have thought the term troglodyte perfectly describes anyone that thinks a series of Stalinesque style purges is appropriate. i.e. you and your brother.

Sometimes one must pull the weeds to let the flowers grow. The important thing is for the correct side to have the weed puller.

The correct side is in the eye of the beholder.

The universe is indifferent and amoral.
It's an "us and them" world.

There's no consensus about "right and wrong,"

but each of us needs to know who's "us" and who's "them,"

and then side with the faction representing his/her own best interests.

It was becoming aware of this, by the way, that made me completely scoff at any talk of "intelligent design."
