    2016 Rio Olympics

    I'm already tired of swimming.
    Beach volleyball is great.
Aussies are b!tching about Rio more than the rest of the world combined.
The US team is staying on cruise ships.

When does track and field get started? That is the thing worth watching.

Move along, nothing new to see here.
I chose the road less traveled.

Agree the athletics is the best to watch at the Olympics. It's usually in the second week isn't. They get all the boring events like swimming out of the way first.

I expect Kiwi dominance out of all disciplines used to escape an island.
US women's rugby got destroyed by Fiji. This is unacceptable.

NZ women's rugby got destroyed by Australia. This is unacceptable. Australia win enough gold medals in legitimate Olympic sports like swimming and athletics. Let us win a medal in our obscure little minority sport ffs!

I'm fine with that. We could get a binding GR poll going to reverse the results but I doubt we'd get enough 5K posters to validate it.
That US breaststroker is starting to piss me off a bit. At first, I loved her talking smack about that Russian. Beating her twice was great validation. But seriously, she's got to STFU a little bit. The individual Ruskies don't have much blame in this. Complicity, yes, but their country ran a huge doping program that they couldn't just opt out of. And honestly, something about swimming must favor homely looking women, and that Russian is hot. No one likes a plain Jane like Lilly King picking on hot piece of asss. She's clearly jealous.

Blah. There hasn't been an exciting Olympics since Munich in '72. The most interesting videos of events are the ones taken from street surveillance cameras of the overgrown street urchins stealing bottled drinks from the Rubes in stopped buses with windows open and latching onto the handbag straps of witless females crossing the streets. I recall in previous decades there were "Death Squads" that kept this human refuse off the streets and disappeared. Well, the PC world prevailed.

I heard that a kayaker capsized when his vessel hit a submerged sofa. Guess that's better than hitting a submerged refrigerator. Can't wait for the ocean swimming events. Hope NBC has availed itself of the latest tech and fitted some contestants with body cams. Dodging human body parts and turds in the surf would be great TV. I really haven't gotten around to watching any of it. Might watch some of the golf. I much prefer re-runs of "Fast 'N Loud" and those black and white archival films of Hitler on the History Channel.
Mostly Taylormade clubs now except for two Ping I25 hybrids, Mizuno 54 & Callaway 56 wedges.

Just when I didn't think it could get any worse now our men's rugby team lost to Japan ffs! Japan!!!

It's only a pool match so we're not out of it yet but we have to play Kenya and Gt Britain next, both of whom are stronger than Japan, at least on paper.

Speaking of hotties who was your favorite Olympic gymnast. In 1976 I had a massive crush on Nadia Comaneci. Mary Lou Retton was a babe from the 1984 LA Olympics.

I am digging Aly Raisman. She got naked for ESPN the Magazine's Body issue last year. Also Nastia Liukin. There was an "older" Romanian from a couple Olympics ago who was an absolute goddess, but I don't recall her name. She was normal height and didn't look like a linebacker. Only competed in the balance beam if I remember correctly.

Seriously, Kiwi, no one is expecting your quaint island nation to get any medals at all. About time for you to get your expectations in line with reality. Clearly Japan is a superior rugby nation. Everyone knows that.

You are right Horseballs. So far NZ have struck gold in rowing, canoeing and sailing.

Sooner (god rest his soul) would definitely be all over Simone Biles.
Who is the greater Olympic athlete: Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt?

Unless Bolt wins a medal after smoking dope and drink drivng etc, it has to be Phelps.

Have you seen women from Fiji? Unacceptable perhaps but inevitable.
