    David Leadbetter...hero or villain?

A few weeks back I went to the Dubai Desert Classic. It's a great comp to go and watch as there are small crowds and you get quite close to the players who tend to be relaxed and up for a chat.

Well, during the Saturday I was sitting at a table by the putting green with a couple of mates and we were joined by two of the players who had finished their rounds. I cant name them, but they are, I guess, "journeymen" pros...will naver make the big time, but make enough to survive.

They were friendly and chatty, and we all had a couple of beers. Then one of my mates mentioned Leadbetter. The pros both made the comment that "you hear about the 10% of successes, you dont hear about the 90% he ruins". They both mentioned golfers whose swing/game had gone to pieces after joining Leadbetter - and hadn't recovered.

Is this right? Or was it just some form of professional envy that they werent with Leadbetter?

    Any opinions?

I have only watched some of his vids. Not bad. Some tips were actually quite good.

I don't know if just me, but does anyone else find he's nauseating. I believe in fundamental teachings but he comes off way to technical. With all the mechanical stuff going on during one of his Golf Channel video lesson, one could get twisted like a pretzel pretty quick.

I personally like Butch, Hank Haney or Rick Smith.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys.

I think if DL ever comes knocking on my door, I'll tell him to sling his hook..!

    Cheers

You said it...and he seems to go on and on and on...

By the way, is Habs001 a Montreal Canadiens fan by any chance?
