two piece versus three piece balls?

What are the inherit advantages and disadvantges of these two types of balls? I belive it was Hogan who said back in the 90's if he had to choose he would have gone with a two piece. COmments.....

    as i understand it...

in general, 2 piece balls are:
    1) less expensive
    2) "distance balls" with less spin, therefore better choice for most high handicappers who tend to slice/hook more
    3) example are topflites, noodles, titleiest NXT, Pecept Laddie ($15-25 per dozen)

3 or 4 piece balls are generally:
    1) more expensive
    2) performance balls, i.e. more spin, thus easier to shape shots and/or drop and stop on the green. they may also exaggerate mishits more than their 2 piece counterparts.
    3) examples include titleiest proV1, Maxfli Revolution Tour, Precept U-Tri Tour, Ben Hogan Tour ($30-54 or more per dozen)

i prefer the lower priced, 3 piece balls mostly based on feel and drop and stop performance. someday i hope to consistently enjoy working the ball-- a work in progress itself.
