Basically nothing except the cost. X-outs are balls which went a bit wrong and the company doesn't feel that it is justified to sell these at $50 per dozen. As a consumer too, you would be aggrieved if you got a less than perfect ball for that price. But with today's technology it isn't really an issue as the difference is only cosmetic and not any major manufacturing fault.

I heard that something like high 90% of all x-outs are cosmettic proplems with the ball.
I don't know if this is true however. But I have never had any trouble with Pro V1 x outs. I don't have any now because I won some new pro v1's in a scramble last year and I also won some gift certifacates that I put directly toward new Pro v1's so I am stocked up for the time being.

The same applies to "Practice" balls from Titleist, Hogan, and others. The balls are fine; there may be a very minor cosmetic issue present, but I've been hard pressed to find the "problem" usually. They play just fine, and are legal for tournament use, too, if that is an issue.
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

any time a ball is one dimple off, or the logo is smuged, they stamp an xout on it. I really dont find that much of a problem with them, but the high schoolers on my team say that wen they tried it, ball flight was off. so those are to opinions from 2 different sides

Look, unless your pro or near pro, it doesn't make much of a difference, I still shoot in the high 70's low 80's with a refurbished ball, I could buy a 10 dollar ball and a 50 cent ball with the exact same cover and I wouldn't be able to know the difference, so save yourself some money.
