    Degree of hybrid?

I am going through my usual club ho'ing and i decided that i am going to get a few new things. First off, I am going to buy a new 983 titielist driver with a aldila nv-65 stiff shaft to go along with my new 904 15*. Also i am going to get a ben hogan hybrid, but i havn't decided which degree to get.

My 175 yard shot is a 7 iron.
    My 150 shot is a 9 iron.

So if you can suggest the right degree of loft for me to get to fill between my 3 iron and 3 wood. I hit my 3 wood about 240-260. I hit my 3 iron about 215-220. I would like to keep my 3 iron, just get a club that fills the gap between the two 3's.

    Thanks a lot in advance...

    Peace

You might think about a 19* club - this is basically the loft of a 5W or 2 iron. That would probably fit nicely between your 3W and 3 iron - I'd guess you'd hit it somewhere in the the 230 range, based on the yardages of your other clubs...

What are the lofts of your 3 wood and 3 iron; that's a starting point. Most 3 woods are about 15 degrees, unless it is a "strong 3 wood", which can be 12-13 degrees. 3 irons can be anything between 20 and 22 degrees for most sets. I'd try to split the difference between the loft of the 3 wood and 3 irons as a starting point. Shafts on hybrids are usually longer than irons and shorter than woods, so if your 3 wood is 15 degrees and your 3 iron is 22 degrees, a 19 degree Hogan would be a good bet. If your 3 wood is 13 or 14 degrees, and the 3 iron is 20 degrees, you might go with the 17 degree Hogan.
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

It seems lloyd and dorkman have answered your question, so let me just say that the Hogan CFT hybrid is a great club, when I'm not carrying my 1i, I carry that in a 21*.

    "Start?
    "Walkin"
    "Where?"
"Right back to where you always been... and then stand there... Still... real still... And remember... "

You just have to try different brands/combinations of loft/shaft. For example, I can hit a 25* Cleveland Halo the same distance as my Snake Eyes' 22*; a 17* Sonartec hybrid as my Snake Eyes' 14* hybrid, all depends.
