    Ten-finger grip?

Anyone tried the 10-finger (aka. "baseball") grip. This is where none of the fingers of the upper hand overlap or interlock with the lower. All 10 fingers are on the club, hands close together. It's usually touted as good for people who are naturally weak. However, I was surprised to learn from Tiger's book that he uses it for some chips. Only a few pros have seemed to use it.

I experimented quite a bit with it last year. It fealt REALLY GOOD. It just felt like I have so much more control of the club. Great for chips. Short clubs seemed to go longer and higher. However, on long clubs I would often hit a really nasty hook, which I seldom do with my regular (interlink) grip.

Over all, though, I haven't switched to it. Just not confident enough yet.

    Any comments?

I feel really comfartable with my interlocking grip right now and am scared to mess around with it.

However, I always putt with the 10 finger grip. That way the left hand doesn't do anything but stay steady and I can go back and through with just the right.

I do remember experimenting last year as well and having a similar experience to your own with the 10 finger grip ... especially the snap hooks.

    I use it

with much success. It may have something to do with me playing baseball for 18 yrs, but it just feels comfortable to me, the more fingers you have on the grip, the more control. Many will disagree, but the great thing about golf, as Arnold Palmer says, is there are many different successful swings, and I'd say that includes grips too.

Ive used the ten finger grip all my life mostly because when i started golf at a young age i didn't know any other way to hold a club. I love it because you can use each hand for a different task on the backswing and follow through.
