    snapping tees

I tend to snap a lot of my 3" tees off the drive. My instructor told me that I am hitting the ball vs sweeping the ball, and that's the reason I am snapping tees. Anyone else heard/experience this?

With the newer HUGE drivers (460cc) the object is to use the upper portion of the clubface....not the center as many think...this gives the optimum launch angle and the lower spin needed for max distance....so you may break a few tees....they are a renewable resource...LOL SWING AWAY....!!!

When I break them I pick them up and use them on par 3's or if I tee off with a 3w or 5w. Buy in bulk and don't even consider the stupid gimmicks like brush tees.

I dont care.. I usually use them for par 3's or never use them again. I care about having a GREAT drive than a peice of wood!

When you're behind a slow group start looking for tees around the teeboxes. I always do this and never run out of tees.

Next take some sand & make a small pile on the tee box. Place your ball on the sand & hit it. Bingo.

I find that broken tees (especially the longer ones) are the result of hard ground (no rain). The tee doesn't flex in the ground and has nowhere to go. At least thats my theory.

There is a local course I play where I break a tee on almost every hole. On another course that is better maintained, I may break maybe 1 tee in the round.
