Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball V.S. Odyssey White Steel 2 Ball

What putter does everyone like better the white hot or the white steel 2 ball I will probably be picking one up within the next year and I am not sure which one to get.

I think the white steel kind of ruins the point of the white hot insert. Plus the original white hot is easier on the wallet.

I own the White Steel but like the White Hot better. I feel more of the putt with the hot and seem to judge distance better because of it.

I prefer (and have) the original White Hot. Never really understood the reasoning behind the steel insert. The 2 reasons the White Hot 2 Ball became the #1 selling putter were the alignment aid and the soft insert. I play on courses with pretty hard and fast greens (dry and windy here), so if I'm above the hole, I like the soft feel on slippery downhill putts.

Only drawback is on REEEEEEALLLLLLLY long putts you have to smash the ball to get it go (>60 feet), so try to keep your putts shorter than that.

I'm a "steel" man myself. I like the ball to come off really crisp so that I can tap it in with a smaller stroke. Keeps me from losing my line.

My White Hot has lost its soft feel and sounds quite 'clicky' off the face. Grand except for when the greens turn into concrete on my course. They're 11.5 on the Stimp
