Best course in Orlando area?
I'm going to a conference in Mickey-town next November. I'd like to get some t-times there for a group of people. Anyone have opinions on what the nicest course in the area to play would be? I think money no object, but I'm not sure what the rates are. We probably wouldn't want to go much over $200/player. I know Disney has some nice tracks, but don't know what else is there.
Thanks!

In the burbs: Diamondback, Highland Reserve, Southern Dunes

IMHO
Disney courses are vastly over rated.
I would suggest the following in order of preference:
1) Orange County National. They hold Q school here for the PGA tour, it is an amazing track
2) Falcons Fire
3) Celebration
All are within 10-20 minutes of the park and IMO offer far better value than the disney courses.
Good Luck and Enjoy.
Sticks:

Cobra Baffler 20* Steel Stiff

Taylor Made Rossa Monza

I was very impressed by Orange County National when I played their Panther Lakes Course. The Crooked Cat course also looked pretty good.
Practice facilities are first rate and they have the worlds largest practice ground at your disposal.
Cost me $125 including buggy, lunch and a bucket of balls.
Also recommend Highlands Reserve, good track at reasonable cost, $50 dollars.
Both had good hire clubs if you are not bringing your own, Hogan BH5 irons and CS3 Driver at Orange County and Cobra Irons and SZ440 woods at Highlands.
Either way enjoy the golf.

i really really enjoyed osprey ridge(one of the disney courses) they had free range balls with greens fee, nice putting green, and a really nice course.
i had also never played with a cart that told you your yardage either...
i got to play for free there.. my dad had the hookup with disney and somebody in the upper staff got me and a friend free greens fees. i also grabbed a handful of free biodegradable tees. i now have enough tees that say osprey ridge on them to last me a couple years.
if you arent bringing your clubs, they rent cobra's. cobra sz fairway woods, cibra speed driver, cobra irons, and a scotty cameron putter.
i wouls also say play orange county national, they held q school there last year, but i have never played there.

I've played a couple of Disney courses and they're nice, but not for the money. So if money is no matter and convenience is, then play some of the better Disney courses (the ones tha host the PGA event). Bayhill is the most famous course in the area and I would definitely play it if money is of no concern.

I played all the Disney courses back in the day. A buddy and I stayed in Disney for 5 days for $250 each, unlimited golf an any course. The 2 newer ones had just opened. I remember them being nice. Recently I played Falcon's Fire, and it was actually very reasonable in price, but I may have played at a reduced rate due to the time of day. I didn't think Bay Hill was open to the public, but if it is, then that's the place to go.

I think Bay Hill has a private and a public course, with the tourney being played on the public.

Thanks for the replies! I've been on vacation (and did get some golf in), hence my lack of responses.
One guy in my group wants to play "Mystic Dunes". Any opinions on that one specifically, especially with regard to the other recommendations here? We're looking for a beautiful course in great condition, challenging but not insane, with nice amenities and a good 19'th hole - convenient to the Portifino Bay Hotel, where we're staying.
Thanks!

Mystic Dunes is a good course. Do look for discount tee times though on such sites as EZ Link.
