How many of you walk or ride most of the time when you play?

I never ride, mainly because its expensive. How are you going to get excercise if you dont walk. If you are still capable of walking the golf course then why not? Usually you can play faster while walking (90* cart rule etc)

I walk with a push cart whenever possible. Some courses either don't allow walkers or have such ridiculously long distances between some of the holes that it isn't practical, or the weather can be roasting hot; then I ride, with a certain sense of embarassment......
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

Ive taken a cart more than usual the last couple weeks. 2-3 times for a quick 9. I have a pinched nerve in my hip and it makes walking an absolute torture.

During the season, the SPCC allows only riding in a cart or taking a caddy. I like to take a caddy when they are around (usually just Saturdays and Sundays in the morning), but I'll cart it other times. I'm probably about 50-50. The caddies are expensive little bastards!

Where are all the cart riders?? Wherever I play, there is almost no one walking. The guys in the pro shop look at you like there's something wrong with you when you walk.

There are a few of very valid reasons to take a cart.
    1) It's a boozin' round. My bag has zero cupholders and a sack of suds gets heavy.
    2) The course designer was retarded and routed the course so there's a huge distance between greens and tees.
    3) The course requires to take a cart. Three of the better courses in my area force you to cart up.

    Walk or ride

I walk because, being British, most courses are set up for walking and I enjoy the exercise. I have always found buggies remove the connection I have with the land. I find I can guage distances better when I walk. That said, GPS on buggies is almost unheard of in the UK. That said, I played in Florida in 2006 and would not have walked due to the heat and humidity. Also there were some very long drives between tees on many of the courses we played.

Walking is the only way to go. I was watching the golf channel about a month ago and the topic was fitness. The lady said walking 18 holes can burn up to 1,800 calories. I figure that will cancel out the beer I drink while playing. Lol. In all seriousness I like walking because it gives me time to think about my next shot and/or forget about a bad shot.

I always walk, you get to take in more of the atmosphere of the course that way I believe. When I play with my uncle he takes a cart. I then proceed to make fun of him and tell him to man up and walk the course.

I like to feel the wind whispering through the trees, and the smell of the dandilions so walking is the only way to go.
