    Golf Reviewers Get Together

I really think that there are enough of us willing to travel a bit that we could make this happen.

I know for a fact that it is very easy to get package deals on golf in Myrtle Beach.

How many of us are willing to fly or pack up our vettes to meet up in myrtle... in fact we could do it in the fall and that way you northerners could get in a few extra rounds?

just a thought but let's run with it and see how it develops.

I would be willing to drive the 1 hour to myrtle

Plus, you're only 16, right Tmac? I'm guessing your parents would have something to say if you told them you wanted to drive 1900 miles to "meet some guys I met on the internet."

Don't count me in for a golf trip. Not only am I a newbie and just getting to know you guys, I'm getting married in August so vacation days are at a premium. Plus I think I'll have to start asking permission before I can just take off for a weekend on a whim. Major bummer.

thats the general idea lyle to get together in the off season for your NORTHERNERS. and it would also be a more pleasant time in the south. LESS HEAT AND HUMIDITY.

I am going to start doing research on golf packages during that time frame that way eveyone will know what they are looking at.

Fall would be good.. Myrtle Beach was a nice place, as was Hilton Head Island.

Of course, we could drive a little more South and go play TPC Sawgrass..

I think Myrtle is a good choice. Do you think Blackmoor will honor a rain check from 1999? Hurricaines and golf don't go well together.

I think that under the new laws as stated by GR all rainchecks will be accepted, or cashed for face value regardless of issue date.any course not complying with said rules will be issued an a@@ whooping, and will be verbally raped by all members of GR.

Whoa Whoa Whoa there laddy, "ASKING PERMISSION"?

WTH, you marrying as an adult or are you getting a new MOMMY? Man up now or pretty soon you'll be asking if it's ok to play a round of golf on the weekend once a month. Or maybe you'll go so far as to ASK if you can take out the garage before it's full so you don't hurt yourself.... where does it start? It starts NOW, if you let her run you like so many chumps do these day she'll RUN you forever. It may sound harsh.... it's supposed to, it's for your own good.

YOU NEED SOME "YOU" TIME.... make sure she gets some HER time and always enjoy your together time but if she has no interests outside of you, you'll be in for a world of hurt every single time you want to do something away from her... She'll pout, she'll make you feel guilty in ways you could never imagine, she'll sap your manhood away so damn fast all of our heads will spin. Take heed.

Good Luck, most men fail in this regard... I've seen it happen so many times it's comical.

Neverman, you're right. Permission was the wrong choice of words. A man's got to assert himself. The trick is to make her feel like she's part of the decision making process while still getting to do the things you want to do. Right now I'm playing softball three nights a week and golfing on the weekend, so I'm doing something right. But I encourage you all to straighten me out using as much verbal abuse as necessary if I ever turn into the shell of a man many of my married friends have become.

Man, you guys can't call me out like that.

Maybe if I lived on the East Coast and could make it a 3day trip I'd be in but it's just too far for me to leave the family at home here in Oregon. Last time I went to Vegas (for 3 days, mind you) it cost me a trip for my wife to Puerto Vallarta for a week! She came home and I swear the first night she called me Pablo or something like that~

Happy to steer you straight SwingHarder, just didn't want to see you going all soft... it's all about compromise. She gets hers and she gets yours is all to common around my friends at work. I was the ONLY married guy that made that trip out of the dozen that went. I still hassle the guys that chickened out. Hell half the guys that didn't go didn't even have the balls to ASK if they could go. They were beat before they even played the game.

I still play softball, soccer and golf way more than I deserve. All of this reminds me that I lucky my wife has friends and interests outside of me (besides that pool boy Pablo!!!). If she didn't we'd smother each other for sure.

I'd love to go to Myrtle someday, it would have to be at least a week long trip to justify the expense of bringing the whole family... sad to say I can't swing that right now as we just finished building a home we can't afford in the first place~

You can call me weak, I'm feeling shamed right now even with my lengthy explanation

Words spoken by someone who is obviously so whipped he can't pull his head out far enough to expound on his thoughts a little? Or maybe you need to ask your little wife what your allowed to write?

    yeah, yeah, yeah... enough whinning...

so as far as courses are concerned...

we have to consider blackmoor because of that cheap bastard HORSEBALLS and his rain check from 1994.

any others you guys would like to play? come on let's get us a list of options out there and we can slowly widdle it down to 2-3 and keep this thing a moving

HEY FRED WHY DON'T YOU JOIN US? HOW MUCH ARE THE MEMERSHIP DUES AT CONGRESSIONAL? WHAT'S IT LIKE, I BET IT'S AWESOME

...see fred you're one of the guys... the bitter one, but one none the less. so why not come out and say hello. what do you say.

ok just talked to susan from playmyrtlebeach.com they only have 3 day packages, however they are pretty reasonable she will email me exact details.anyway 400.00 for three nights and 3 rounds at witch, wizard and manta war.we can opt to only play 2 rounds and the cost will be about 80 less.or we can play 2 rounds on sat and 1 sunday morning. we would be staying at river oaks 4 guys per room.once booked she would need 100 deposit from each of us and then the rest 30 days before our res.
the ball is rolling anyone in can PM me and ill give them my email. these prices are good any weekend in oct.

That site has some pretty good packages if I only knew the quality of the courses and accomodations. Their last one, the island one I guess, looks quite tasty. I didn't see any strippers though, kinda bummed but work is probably happy for it.

um if you go to a gorup of courses owned by the same org then you can put together packages for reasonable prices such as 2 or 3 round packages... $100-$120 for 2 round... $120-$150 for 3 round...

I'd be more worried about waking up and finding someone spooning with you, or a hand grabbing your chest and feeling you up. That'd freak me out much much more.

Easiest way to get around that is either one guy under both the sheet and comforter and then the other just under the comforter, or my personal favorite.. I'm calling the couch or floor right now lol

Hey the lady i spoke with said there are 4 twin beds so if you wake up being spooned, the ho mo doing it will be curb stomped. everyone gets their own bed. but i think we need to set a date early in oct. and pay her the 100 bones then we have a month to come up with the other 300.

Ahh, that's fantastic then. Sooner the date set the better so we can all start putting money aside.

This may be one of the best weekends of the year. Start packing up the flaxseed oil and XXS turtlenecks!

    How are these courses anyway?

    Witch
    Wizard
    Man-O-War

If I even think of going that far for golf I don't want any cheap muni-type sheeeeet...

As it is airfare would cost me as much as accomodations and tee times. That seems a little "soft" on the fees to vacation scale. I understand some of you are young but if I'm going to be playing scrub courses and saving $50-$100 over playing some "memorable" courses count me as one who won't even think of opting in. It's just too much commitment to not play championship type courses, know what I mean? Not trying to be snobby, if it came down to it I could kick in a little for some of the less financially secure types?

I've never golfed in Myrtle Beach either, so I can't help on course choices. The only place I've even been in MB is the airport.
