RTJ Golf Trail stories

A buddy and I are going down to Alabama to sample a few of the courses on the RTJ golf trail. Mostly the Capital Hill Courses and Grand National. I have heard great things and am looking forward to it. Have a question to post to the experts on the forum.
Alabama in August--- HHH - hot hazy and humid - not unbearable tho?
Any comments suggestions or stories about the trail would make it both more enjoyable as well as helpful. Both of us are golf nuts and have played as many as 54 holes a day on the last trip we took to Treetops in MI so we golf, eat and sleep pretty much in that order. Thanks
