Talking Just Got A New Putter!

Just splashed out on a new putter, my golf partner broke my old one with a big hook that hit the putter in my bag and smashed it. Bought myself a 48" inch Odyssey White Hot long for next to nothing! Can't wait to try it out, anyone had any experience with one?

I had a White Hot putter several years ago. It had nice feel, as I remember. I didn't have a very good putting stroke back then, so I can't draw any conclusions about the quality of the putter when the quality of the PUTTER was relatively low at that time.....
    Seldom right, never in doubt......

I currently use a 34" White Hot Mallet, and I like it. I'd say my putting has improved since I've bought it. Partially due to a more consistent stroke of course.

you will look like a FOOL with one of those long putters. putting is so easy i dont know how all these hacks manage to screw it up so bad they need the grip above their head.

good luck with it... putting is the most personal thing in golf and you have to find the putter, putting grip, and stroke that works for you.

and on a side note when you want a real putter you can look at camerons... put please dont ever be caught dead with any nike unitized shiite...

They may be hard to find in stores, but are plentiful at retirement home garage sales.

JS, don't do it. Belly putters should be banned and not just because they're ugly. Every other club requires you to make a swing.
Belly putters are total hack. My apologies to any cheaters on here who may be using one. You'll get what you deserve in hell.

ROFL.... that's true... if you cant roll the ball correctly with a properly fitted 32 - 35" putter you should take up knitting... i mean how freaking hard is it to hit the center of a club thats moving 1 ft./ second?

but JS you should definitely do it... it would fit perfectly with your wilson cast SGI's, your adidas POS sports shoes with cleats, and your hack a.ss callaway and nike woods....

Would you play with your pants around your ankles if it would lower your scores?

I say try a belly putter and see how you like it. as fo rthe nonsense that belly putters are for hacks, I seem to recall someone by the name of Vijay Singh who used a belly putter a short while back. he seemed to do ok with it (I believe he used it while ranked no. 1)

yeah how long did that last for him...throught time the guys who have dominated the tour have all used traditional length putters... because real players dont need gimmicky equip. to get the job done...

    JS you should by two...

    Good Idea Ma'am.

one for left to right putts and one for right to left.

Straight putts? I'll belly a wedge.

Belly putters are not intended to help one strick the center of the face (thats IS easy enough by itself) but more to help with the path, ad the release of the putter... many who use these putters can do this just fine with a regular putter but feel it is more consistant and easier to do with a belly putter... and in this game any advatage the USGA gives you, well ya better at least try it...
