    Rapture Sweet Spot

Has anybody else who has hit the Rapture noticed that it seems like the sweet spot is lower on the face than other drivers today? I went from the first generation Launcher to the Rapture and I actually tee the ball LOWER for the Rapture. I talked to another guy yesterday and he said the same thing. It seems to be one of the few drivers that has a sweet spot low on the face.

yea i noticed that when i tested the Rapture i noticed that i got to much spin as well a poor feel when i teed it up like i would for almost any other driver... i obviously ended up with the 907D2 but the Rapture definantly was about 5yds longer than the D2 (the D2 was just better overall)...

I had the exact same experience with those two clubs.

No, the Rapture is definitely long. Yesterday I couldn't get any distance out of it and finally I started teeing the ball lower. Then I just started bombing it. It seems so weird to tee it lower than my old "small" driver though. I'd agree that it does seem to spin a lot and have a weird ball flight if you catch it too high on the face. It has a really weak ballooning type flight when I hit it high on the face. If you catch it on the lower half it's perfect trajectory and flight. I just found it strange. Thanks for the concurring info!

I think we're saying the same thing here. I have the proto shaft in the D2 and it's longest drives may be just a tad shorter than some (5 yards? I don't really know), however, I feel I can hit alot more drives closer to my max than with other drivers, and when you throw in its workability both ways and compensation for shaky swings, it's my current fav. The Rapture has gotten great buzz, but when I tested it I hit alot of duds. Less though when I figured out its quirks (like the sweet spot).

Interestingly TItleist fired its head designer not long ago, just after they came out with some pretty good clubs, following a number that weren't all that received.

I personally would like to see the guy that set the price on the Pro V-s get the axe.

yea we are tlking about the same thing i would say i would average 285yds with the rapture and 280yds with the D2... plus the D2 is great in terms of workability...

i had a r7 425tp... i'd say that the D2 is about 10yds longer (on avg) than the 425tp and the Rapture is another 5yds longer than the D2... the Rapture is the longest driver i have ever hit...
