Bridgestone J33 vs MP 30

Back in the old days they used to tie your left arm to your body if you were developing that way. The idea was that southpaws were possessed by the devils. I guess Bridgestone's management is awful conservative

Isn't Bridgestone considered a big time golf company in Japan? I think they are more than a "tire company". If you consider their Tourstage line they are probably up there with Miura, Fourteen, Gold's Factory, Scratch, etc. They're probably just as good as Mizuno and maybe even better in some people's opinion.

Mizuno's are a mass produced product and aren't anywhere close to "samurai Japanese forgings". I'm just saying that Mizuno makes really good clubs but they certainly aren't the end all company. There are a lot of better clubs from Japan.

I'm a left-handed golfer and sometimes if playing bad, I would swear another force is controling me... but that's besides the point. I don't know much about the Bridgestone clubs, can anyone post a pic of these irons??

I would agree Mizuno does make really good clubs, I got my MP-60's towards the end of this season and I'm in love with them. But they are by no means the be all to end all. In this day and age of golf equipment either would be a great set of clubs!!

Haven't hit the MP-30's but I demoed the J-33's vs the MP-60's and I liked the Bridgestones better. Solid feel and feedback. The Mizuno's feel soft, sure but almost to the point of feeling mushy. I can see how the lofts/lies would quickly get out of spec if you are hitting off range mats regularly. For all the raving about them that goes on on this forum I didn't like them much at all. But that's just my opinion.

i prefer the J33's but i also like a more clicky feel at impact thats just me... i think that they both are excellent sets but it all comes down to personal preference...

Lastly, I have been playing MP 33's and the other set is for my guest bag. My MP 33's have quite a bit of browning on them. Are there any products that remove the browning but aren't abrasive to the chrome around it?

Now don't go bringing up facts to discredit the incorrect presumptions. Bridgestone makes excellent golf equipment, and Tourstage equipment is very high end. The Japanese Miziuno equipment is also higher end than they export to the US.

i had a set of Bridgestone J33's which were a sort or blended set; the longer irons were CB's, and the shorter irons were more bladelike. I agree with the sentiment above that they felt a little bit clicky on some shots, particularly greenside pitches or chips with the PW. But other than that, I thought they were excellent clubs.

I've demo'd the MP 30's, and thought they were the worst feeling irons I've ever hit from Mizuno. They didn't have that beautiful buttery feel at all; they felt dull and harsh compared to many Mizuno offerings. Interestingly, I recently demo'd the Mizuno MP 52, 57, 62, and 67, and it was the 62's that most resembled the MP 30's, both in appearance/design, and for feel.

I'm no Mizuno basher, but I think there are some other outstanding clubs out there, especially from Japan.

Mine are starting to brown pretty good as well. It's just chrome wear, and won't affect spin or feel. to my knowledge you can't remove it, because it's loss off the chrome. You will certainly see where you're striking the ball. Dude, if you're playing the 33s, then you have no reason to even entertain the thought of another set of irons.

God plays 33s as well, and His sweet spots are all but gone. He said He is considering a new set of 100s.

Yeah I love the 33's. At work I've got about ten guys at work drinking my equipment Kool-Aid. I had an old set of MacGregor JNP's and one of the guys bought them off of me so now I'm looking to repopulate the spare bag. I will only put forged clubs in my guest bag so that whoever needs to borrow some clubs gets to see what feel really is. I've had many experiences letting a partner hit a short iron from my MP33 set and I've never heard anybody complain. They just feel so sweet. (but hey who I am telling)
I'm guessing that I'll probably sell whichever set I choose within 90 days for the same price I paid for it. That's what happened with the last 3 sets of irons I've put in the guest bag. Besides it just increases the playing partners that I have.

Great, except I'm RH only swing LH. Everything else is RH. My old man tried to get me to turn around to the RH side but I wouldn't.

I play the J33s and have commented about them on these forums numerous times. Solid clubs, Bridgestone is very underrated in the US imo. Try them if you can fin d them.
