Lol, Teach me how to hit my 3w and 2Hy and we'll be good

I can hit my driver, I can hit my 4i, I just cant hit those 2 clubs for crap which is why I don't know if I want to add another wood, iron or wedge. I'll wait till next summer when I'm sure I completly replace all of my clubs I guess

How reliable is Golfonlinesale.com?

I am looking to buy a new set of golfclubs and searched the set on froogle.com. A site called golfonlinesale.com came up and they had a really good deal on the set I want. My only question is are they reliable or am I going to get charged for the clubs and not see them for 3 months. They are based out of the UK and I dont know anything about them. Just seeing if anyone has ordered from them. I like the more
TaylorMade R9 Driver very much thanks for reading

No offense, but this thread has got to be the most boring, useless waste of space on this forum. This type of thread belongs ion shittalk. The only relevant information on this forum is forged or cast POS SGI shovels, and whether or not you play hybrids. These two questions tell us everything we need to know, everything else is irrelevant.

Very good point. And, now that it has been targeted by a spammer, it is time to cut it loose and allow it to be lost in the oblivion within the pages of useless threads on this site.

Even I remember that.

You have a stickied thread here that is FOUR FREAKING YEARS OLD.

It's time to let the old guard take this place back over....

In support of this amazing revelation, I also agree that my sticky barbecue/barbeque thread, in the 'off topic' should be removed as a sticky, also.

We can post in these 'unstuck from the rut threads,' as we wish.

Ping/GA: Has Francis given you dudes the ability to unsticky threads? ... Don't worry about Boomster; I will tell him I wanted my barbecue/barbeque thread removed as a sticky too...

Perhaps we should drop all of the sticky threads, and start anew... Sh!t, it is April, and it is a new beginning.

Herr Spankmeister, that is extraordinarily humble and generous of you.

I salute both you and your commitment to progress, but i must insist that your BBQ thread remain at the top of the list for all to see.

Seasons change, golf bags change, my waist size has changed, but good BBQ is for all time.

CJ I hope they are not carry distances because there is no way that you can be off 7 and carry the ball 290 with a driver??? and that is yards or metres! :mad2:

Did I claim they were carry distances? My 90% driver swing speed is >110 and close to 125 if I want to bomb one. I can hit it over 300 yards if I want.

Yeah I hit it over 300 yards too if it is downwind a bit and maybe downhill.

I am not saying that you are not a long hitter (like the Lama) but all I was saying was that you DON'T carry it 290 with the driver. And you dont.

I can swing it 130mph if I want but I wouldn't be off 2 i'd be off 22. It is all relative.

So you go play with a 250 yard drive when your all out drive is 350 yards, maybe more. Do you just bunt your driver around the track? Playing to a two is great. What's the length of your track? I understand about swinging within yourself but a 250 yard drive is like a 95mph swing. If I swing out of my arse I might be able to get about 5 maybe 10 mph's more out of my swing but you're claiming 35mph's more out of your swing. That's an unbelievable gain.

Peo4soul,

No I was trying to make a point. I never swing 130mph but I could if I wanted to I just wouldn't be very good.

I swing at around 110mph with the driver and carry it around 250 - 270 probably. Once it runs out a bit I am approaching 270-290 which for an amateur in flat calm conditions is pretty OK. I question whether people are honest enough to quote their CARRY distances and quote distances from calm, normal conditions.

My course is 6900yards. I don't exactly bunt it, in fact I would say I rip it but not to the extent where I am swinging off my feet. I hit it far enough anyway.

If a hole is downwind or downhill then I will likely get it out over 300 yards. If it is both then I may get it 350 if I hit it good. If a hole is uphill into a 15mph wind though I may only hit it 250.

Full distances and carry distances are different

Just to clarify this for you, the original question/form was club distance not carry distance. Now I see our confusion, fine. My swing speed is pretty similar to yours and 250-260 carry is about right. So is the 270-290 club distance stated by CJ. I understand your comparison to driving distances/handicap and while it is an average I don't think it's correct for all players. A young strong player with a good baseball swing can hit the ball 300 yards just not always in the right direction and high numbers will ensue. That doesn't mean they are over swinging. I might just mean that their technique or sequencing is correct. The might be able to hit the ball straight but have no short game. Just saying....

Hi,

OK that is fair enough.

I havent met anyone who measures club distances incorporating run out. It is just not an accurate measure no matter how you look at it.

Yes having played a lot of decent quality amateur tournaments in my life I realise that some people are just athletically gifted and can bomb it obscene distances. I admit that I may have generalised and that poorer players can also bomb it just not consistently. Fair point and I concede.

However, when they put this as their average then there is something wrong as if those distances are their average it suggests that they are puring it every time.

Whatever - You say Eggplant, I say Aubergine. It is a matter of opinion I guess.

The reason I'm off 7 is because I get to play maybe once a week. When I was 15 I played off a 4. This summer I have worked 2 jobs and took a summer class and then in the fall through spring i'm in college. Yes, If i had the time, I could certainly card a 0 handicap, if not a plus. But there are more important things in my life at the moment, so I will happily play off 7 right now.

CJ,

I have no problems at all with that! I admire it actually. I took 6 years off for studies!

Getting from 7 to plus is not easy however.
