Pingman may or may not be a closet case, but he's surely got some confidence issues. Reminds me of BPC a little bit.
    Let's review the facts...
    He's a homophobe
He gets the hottest girls on campus yet isn't engaging in premarital affairs
He was elected class president, yet declined

    Let's examine the facts.
    1. Homophobes often are gay. It's a shield they put up.
    2. The only guys who get the hottest girls yet don't bang them are gay.
    3. Was Pingman a write-in candidate for class president? This makes no sense, unless it was written to come across as a BMOC on GR.

I will reserve judgement, but it looks like the two options are either gay or severe self-confidence issues.

Pingman, you seem like a nice kid desperately in need to hear my two favorite quotes of all time (I might not have them exact but close enough).

The English lexicographer Samuel Johnson said,
"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

Some time later, the German philosopher Karl Marx said,
"Religion is the opiate of the masses."

Regard these as possibly the only absolute truths in the entire universe--well, maybe death and taxes, too--and you'll have a head up from the outset.

If you are really not gay, then one day you'll be kicking yourself for these missed oppurtunites later on in life. This kind of sexual repression could even turn you into a deviant later on in life...think catholic priests. The good news is there is a cure...alcohol. Have some fun, make some "mistakes", blame it on the alcohol, and ask for forgiveness later. (disclaimer: use protection)

This college seems a lot like a high school.
Pingman, are you also a racist? Why do you think it's OK to be such a homophobe? I've known several gay people from work, school and my personal life, and I can assure you that it's not a choice they decided to make one lonely afternoon. Many gay people struggle with their realization when they are young and try to repress it by living in denial. Why do you have to be such a hardass (that's for Camp Freddy) about this?
The bottom line is that sexuality isn't some choice that opens you up for ridicule from self-righteous pricks. Just like being born black. Rise up young Christian.

its a state school... so no its not really like high school and i dont know why you assume that....

but it just freaks me out.... theres no way i can ever imagine being that open with a guy... i just cant imagine it, really it just freaks me out...

and yes i believe sexuality is a choice you arent born like that and there is scientific research which shows there is no gene which causes you to be gay...

While your notions are indeed profound and well thought out, Horseballs, Pingman is too young to think in such esoteric terms.

The bottom line is this: if he wants to go through life without ever getting a decent haircut, a decent fitting suit, or a properly decorated home, let him continue to be homophobic.

My god are you ever an idiot. Seriously.
There is also scientific research that shows that human sexuality is the result of dozens of genes working in concert. You don't believe in evolution, yet you believe science has boiled down every behavior and trait as observable in genes? Where are you getting your information? Church?
Have you never met any gay people?
Just to restate, you are an inconceivable idiot of the highest order.

You don't give up on a kid that young, Horseballs.
Give him some time to think.
    He believes in Jesus.

Now whether Jesus is an actual historical figure or a mythical symbol, it really doesn't matter. Jesus represents love and acceptance.

This kid has Him pegged as a judgmental prick. At some point, he'll recognize the conflict, hopefully.

actually there is no research of any kind which you speak... its all just theory... good try though...

evolution is not science regardless of what anyone says... have you ever seen evolution??? no huh??? that makes it a belief there is no proof of evolution... just like no one has ever seen creation it is a belief... but science points towards creation... not evolution which is based on circular reasoning... dont start this argument with me ive been taught all the so called claims against creation and i also know where they break down... creation simply does not break down in any point b/c we admit that it has to be taken by faith...

I won't go calling you names, but I will interject some OBSERVABLE EVIDENCE into the discussion which is PROOF of evolution.

DOG BREEDING. There is no element of "faith" or "believing in" evolution, when we can take a population of canines, select the ones whose traits we wish to favor, and interbreed those dogs to deliberately create offspring to OUR LIKING. That's evolution, but instead of NATURAL SELECTION being the driving force, we interfere directly.

Ever heard of DNA? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA The blueprint for how to construct an organism. Oh yeah, we mapped the ENTIRE HUMAN GENOME http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_genome like 6 years ago now, PROVING the theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory just to clarify what a theory ACTUALLY is) of evolution.

I hope you're not paying much for your education if they're repressing facts and truth to the point that you haven't learned these things by now.

I'm being serious about that last part too.

What do you think forms the basis for a theory? Wait for it... Research.

Pingman, you cannot possibly believe in human genome theory (as you selectively choose to do when disputing homosexuality as a genetic trait, which is inherently false in the first place), yet deny a much more macro and observable phenomenon such as evolution. I'm not arguing with you about creationism v. evolution, just pointing out your hypocrisy when you choose to prop up science. Once again, Pingman, you are an ignorant idiot, not a conservative.

and i said science points toward creation... thats all...

and im not following your points about hypocrisy... but its been a long day ive got a lot going on (couple friends are prob gonna get kicked outta school so im a bit frustrated) so reading comprehesion prob is the culprit right now...

im done for today... maybe tomorrow we can discuss our differences.... in the NON-GOLF section though... im gonna close this thread down just b/c its gotten way off-topic... but seriously i enjoy discussing differences of beliefs so please start a thread in non-golf and i will gladly join in on that discussion...

oh btw... i am a conservative...

I'm glad I found this thread after it was FINALLY locked.

It's funny you are 100% sure homosexuality is a choice made by the individual. You clearly haven't met someone that hides their sexual feelings because they don't like it, and wish they could be different.

You sir, are one I'd like to punch in the face. That doesn't happen often either.
