Hey, Aussies . . .
As I am sitting here watching Crocodile Dundee 2, I wanted to acknowledge that two of my favorite comedy/dramas is Croc 1 and Croc 2. What does Australia think of Paul Hogan? Is he a legit star, or is he kind of a has been, snicker under your breath whenever you mention his name kind of actor?

Prior to the Croc Dundee series Hoges was television royalty over here. His sketch comedy shows were legendary in the 70's.
He has definitely lost some ground with the plastic surgery and subsequent box office stinkeroos (Lightning Jack, Flipper (WTF was he thinking!), Almost an Angel etc etc), but he will always be revered as an example of a true Australian and somebody you'd love to have a beer with down the local pub.

Paul Hogan earlier in his career was highly rated, also he was a common working man or "battler" as we call it here before becoming famous. Aussies love a battler, especially when they "take it to the toffs". However when he became wealthy, dumped his missus for his pretty young co-star and crossed over to the other side he fell from favour. It also didn't help that his long time manager (who appeared with him in his aussie tv series) was nailed for big time tax avoidance, (Hogans affairs were involved). When it became clear that the once dinky di aussie battler had joined the elite, mixing with the rich and famous and employing creative accountants he was finished. Now most aussies are ambivalent to him.

Have to agree with 'oldplayer' and 'not a hacker', was great on tv, and first 2 'Dundee' movies, but has lost a lot since then.

I would have been tempted to dump the old wife and marry Linda Kozlowski, too! Whenever I see that scene where she is bending over to get water in her canteen and she is wearing a thong, it makes my mouth water . . . . .

Agree with you 100% Sooner. That scene makes me drool too. I love the way Crocodile Dundee bangs his head on the tree trying to get a better view.
Croc 1 was brilliant, the sort of movie you can watch time and time again. Croc 2 was ok.
If you like that Aussie style humour you should watch a movie called 'The Castle'. All about the little Aussie Battler Old Player was referring to taking on the big corporates. Not sure how popular it was outside of OZ & NZ but it is an Aussie Classic!
I chose the road less traveled.
Now where the f#ck am I?

If you are looking for something 'More True Blue', and risqué, try to find a move called
"Welcome to Woop Woop'
Is a real send-up of all things OZ.
Oldplayer, thanks for the welcome.

If you ever saw Hoges wife Noelene you would jump to Koslowski quicker than . She was a beast.
Sooner, if you really wanna see a hot girl in a Hoges scene, in his old comedy series there is a skit where a young Delvene Delaney is walking through a park in a VERY skimpy pair of denim shorts with matching top, to the Rod Stewart classic Hot Legs. The scene is about all the havoc she causes amongst the general male population. That scene left an indleible burn on my young memory and is still one of the benchmarks for hot IMO.
