    Charleston SC

Omen and whomever else is familiar.....

Heading to Charleston over Labor Day 2009 for a wedding. The wedding itself is going to be at Patriot Point(???). There is a course there, right?

Is it worth lugging the sticks? I will be there for a couple days - might want to play.

Thoughts? Any other courses nearby that might be better or that you endorse? Cost is no issue.

Charleston national about 10 miles north of patriot point.

Hey there, I live in Charleston and you will absolutely love golfing here. Patriots Points is a wonderful golf course, wide open but challenging. The front 9 is much easier then the back 9. Hole 17 is a par 3 to an almost island green by the ocean. Depending on the wind, you can hit anything from a pw to a 3 iron. Charleston National is a nice course, Dunes West is absolutely gorgeous also. If you want to spend some $$$, Wild Dunes and Kiawah. The Links at Stono Ferry is very nice also
    Hope you enjoy Charleston

If you have trouble getting on any of the courses mentioned above, try Crowfield Plantation in Goose Creek. It is a very challenging course with great greens and a reasonable price.

I have played Charleston National and enjoyed it. I drove by Patriots Point, but it looked busier and more of the "muni" feel in that you have lots of adjoing fairways..or that is my recollection.
