Windows 7
Anyone switch to Windows 7 yet? I have had Vista Ultimate since last Fall and it sucks shite. I have purchased a FULL version of Windows 7 Ultimate and will be installing it on my computer in a couple of days. I also purchased an external portable hard drive and will be backing up some important files before installing Windows 7.
Just curious if anyone has taken the plunge yet or if you will . . . .

Im not sure if Im going to get an H1N1 vaccination or not? I probably will if I don't have to wait in too long of a line.
Yeah, Windows Vista is horrible. I will definitely be trying out 7...mostly because its my favorite number.

It sounds like Vista will go down in history the same as Millennium did....

Actually, from what I have read about it, and from talking to my friend who works at Microsoft in Seattle, Windows 7 is what Vista SHOULD have been. It is much easier to use and less irritating.

And the kernel? New wrapper same engine? That's what i've heard from my IT friends. Not many business jumping. Mostly because peripherals don't have drivers like my large scale plotters. Also some of the survey specific software isn't working on Vista or 7. There are work arounds but not exactly what you want to do when you need stability.

You actually should ask this question on a Porn forum. Anything good in the way of technology get's vetted by the porn industry long before the rest of the world catches on.

Honestly, I'm happy with my Vista HP 64. I don't have the cash right now to upgrade anyway. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Hasn't Microsoft said this about the last 57 software products they've released?

More likely because Michael Vick wore it...That one didn't work out to well for me...Imagine how you would feel if Jason Taylor killed dogs (this is assuming you went to Akron....or was it Ball State....I can't remember).
I have overheard a ton of people saying there is no way they would get a flu vaccine. Saying something about how vaccines "don't work no how." I may be too lazy to get one, but vaccines do work. How many people do you see walking around with Polio or Small Pox.

Vaccinations are the biggest scam since Scotty Cammeron putters. 'Vaccinations' cost the taxpayer billions, and routinely contain all sorts of chemicals like Formaldehyde, Aspartame, and Mercury just to name a few. There are also other bio nasties like Campylobacter, and other live viruses wich are supposedly non active and are just potent enough to give you immunity without making you sick (although the cases of outbreaks amongst 'vaccinated' poulations after large scale vaccination campaighns are well doucmented thorughout the last entury or so). Not to mention the 'vehicles' which the viruses are attached to (usually chicken embryos or monkeys blood). All injected directly into the blood stream, thus avoiding all the bodies other natural defence systems (saliva, stomach acid, skin etc). Is it any wonder so many people in the world are sick. All this without any evidence that these things actually provide any benefit at all (how many people do you know who got flu this year despite being 'vaccinated').
My prediction is massive outbreaks of H1N1 to occur shortly after the vaccination campaign begins, mostly amongst 'vaccinated' people who will be assured by the health departments that their 'vaccination' was still beneficial as it meant the virus was not as bad (another myth). This in turn will cause hysteria and have more people stampeding to the doctor to get their free vaccination, causing larger outbreaks, ....you can get the picture.

If you have problems with Windows Vista... then by all means Upgrade to Windows 7
If your Vista runs OK... don't touch it... Windows Vista is probably as good as Windows ME which had a bad name a few years back
Don't upgrade from Windows XP professional to Windows 7... your old printer, fax machine, old softwares may not be compatible with Windows 7

Purist, I'm not biting on your first paragraph.
I would definitely get the vaccine and probably will when it becomes more readily available. Mainly because I have a 13 month old virus magnet who picks up any and every sickness around.

Just a little trivia here, but every person who Jenner vaccinated for smallpox, died from contracting smallpox.
If you have an open mind have a read of this. It is properly referenced, not the work of a quack.

I think not eating meat is a b!tch move...WTF NAH....Ive only come across 2 types of men who won't eat meat: 1- Guys who are extremely light in the loafers & 2- Guys trying to get in the pants of some hippie chick. Your my boy NAH, but you need to man up and eat a hamburger.

I'll agree with you on this point.
My brother in law is a vegetarian. He stopped eating meat after he got double pneumonia about 10 years ago. He used to look healthy, but now he looks terrible. Bad skin, bad hair, totally slack.
Plus, it's such a pain in the ass to have to worry about making food for vegetarians when they come over to my house. If I'm grilling out, we are eating meat. No I will not throw your pussified black bean burger on my grill, and no I cannot guarantee there isn't any meat in the fukcing baked beans. I'll have them sulking in the corner chewing on celery within 20 minutes.

Just the same, since it's some midwestern salad, this is not difficult to believe.

No it's the Kiwi beef & lamb, chicken and fish & beer diet. Whale blubber is great but a little overpriced so I save that for special occasions.

Vegetarians are bad enough but vegans like NAH must be a nightmare. Even dairy foods and eggs are off the menu. Come to think of it NAH, WHAT do you eat?

I don't have to have lettuce made of hamburgers. BUT, if I'm having a salad, it better be loaded down with bacon, ham, egg, cheese or grilled chicken or I'm not eating it.

I now have Windows 7 loaded, and while I have not used it enough yet to note all the changes obviously, I can say that I like it better than Vista Ultimate already. I have not seen any irritating question boxesor reminder boxes that Vista is loaded with. It was very easy to upgrade to the full version of Windows 7 (I actually did a full install instead of the upgrade). It has been very easy to load my files and programs back on.
But, I've just started with it so I'll learn more as I use it.

I saw a story about vegans today and it said they don't even eat honey. WTF??? I was a vegetarian for about 6 months in college. I fell into category 2 of Purist's vegetarian types. I was hoping to bang my philosophy professor and even went to a PETA meeting with her. What we won't do for some hot hippie action...

If it means anything, I still drink beer and plenty of it (a surprisingly high number of beers are vegan), so at least I'm not one of those guys you can't trust because he won't have a beer with you. I also watch almost nothing but sports on TV, and the more the violent the sport the better (golf being the exception).
I sort of know where you are coming from as I've met a few guys who would fit the descripiton you have made, but I'm definitely not your stereo typical vegan. I only started on the diet at 36 years old, and before that I was a steak eating slob. It's definitely an ethical and environmental decision for me, but there are also health aspects that are important for me as I'm a type one diabetic (which I put down to an auto immune reaction from hep 'vaccine' as it just happened to develop not long after receiving my 'totally safe' 'vaccination'). You might also be surprised at the sorts of guys who are vegans. UFC champ Mac Danzig is a long term animal rights vegan, and even Carl Lewis has said that he was on a vegan diet when he had his best years on the track.
For the question of what I eat. Mostly whole foods (fruit and veg) and tofu, but there are also alot of soy based stuff that are processed but still pretty tasy. There are alot of fake meats around too made from soy or gluten, but I try to stay away from them (no more than one meal a day with that sort of stuff in it). One thing I eat heaps of are bananas. They are the most complete foods a human can eat. I always have at least three in the bag for a round of golf. Heaps of energy and packed with vitamins and minerals. I also find them much more palatable than other fruits. I would average at least 2 or 3 a day.

I'm always just curious how you can get enough protein on a vegetarian diet let alone a vegan diet. At least vegetarians can eat eggs and dairy products. It must get pretty dull eating soy products like tofu all the time.

A balanced vegan diet can provide more than enough protein for a human. The so called need of protein is one of the myths created by the meat industry (just look at the stats for how many people on the atkins diet end up with fukt livers). I've even read that Arnie himself reccomends no more than 1 gram of protein for every 2 pounds of body weight, and he was talking about protein requirements for body builders, not regluar guys who don't work out. And he was Mr Olympia 7 times so he knows what he's talking about. It's also worth noting that one our fellow primates, gorillas, eat a predominantly plant based diet and you wouldn't say they suffer from a lack of muscle. As for a vegan diet, fruit and vegetables have protein in them, but the protein rich foods are stuff like tofu, mushrooms, legumes and nuts. There is also loads of protein in grains. A slice of bread has about 3 grams of protein alone.
As for the boring part, I don't eat soy products or tofu all the time. You'd be surprised how much taste you miss out on if you limit your fruit and veges. My strifrys now have a much bigger variety of veges than they used to, and if I add nuts and different mushrooms they are tastier than any meat based stir fry. I admit that it's sometimes hard to walk past cake shops as vegan and non vegan cakes look the same, but with a little effort you can make some decent deserts that are vegan.

I'm guessing the bush at PETA meetings is virtually indistingishable from rotting flesh. Don't invite more trauma into your life than is absolutely necessary.
I'm hoping I don't reach that level of necessity and that if I do, I'll hang myself with Bob before resorting to bad snatch.

We don't have much to with PETA over here, but from what I read about them they could certainly fit some descriptions of 'nutty'. I think they go over the top on some things, but compromise on others and come out looking a bit wishy washy and almost hypocritical at times. But they are a welfarist group, where I adopt an abolitionist philosophy, so while we are fundamentally on the same page, I do not agree with everything they say and do.
Sooner and Kiwi, not here to convert anyone, or sell anything, just answering questions. I don't judge people on what they eat (I wouldn't have a very big circle of friends if I only hung with vegans), I just try to live my own life the way I think is right for me.
