Attention All Short-Knockers
I wanted to share a little underground movement with some of our oldies and light weights.
Try using a stiffer shaft with a higher lofted head. TrackMan data has shown that many slower swingers have erratic swing speeds and release the club too early. If you can't get your hands ahead of the ball at impact with a decent amount of lag, then you're going to be spraying the ball all over the place. Try putting an x-flex in your driver, and use a higher lofted head to get an optimal launch. Some of you guys may find that you can hit a 16* x-flex driver farther than a 10.5* reg flex, and you won't be spraying the ball so much.
Your Welcome...

Yeah, but when some old codger puts his 85mph ss on an x-stiff shaft he will be launching the ball optimally at about 12-13*.

I seriously doubt that you have ever put an x-flex in any of your drivers. The point is to match a low launch shaft with a high launch head. That way you can get optimal launch conditions without spraying the ball due to the inconsistencies of a slow swing speed.

On behald of TP, I would like to extend his deepest, most sincere apologies. While his certainty exceeds his doubts, he usually seems to get it right.

Technically I was right. You never put an x-flex in one of "your" drivers. You see your mates driver is your mates and not "yours". Apology not extended.

Hopefully we're all good at something. That's why I thought I'd contribute.
The English ability to claim things that aren't theirs goes back centuries. If you want to claim robbery, talk to indigenious people.
Italians are a happy group (when not violent). Not having extreme Victorian laden sexual disfunction, we're free to live and let live. At least since the Roman Empire.

Wow this thread is going nowhere fast. Which is exactly what a thread about Thrivers/Thragina's deserves.
Hey Edgey I thought it had to have a 7 wood ladies flex shaft in it to qualify as a Thragina?

I didn't do that. My ancestors were sailing gondolas and singing at the time. Ok, a very small group was raping the Chinese, but it wasn't a national effort. I only came to the U.S. because I was forced to by a woman expert in the ways of mind control, long after it was cleared out of undesireables.
The modus of the U.S. expansion reveals English roots.

Great name that's a way to get around any copyright infringement. 'Information on Thrivers' was locked down but 'Information on Thrivers II' lives on.

Not that I needed the added criteria of locked threads, but my Religion Thread got to lockdown status very quickly and at least another one called "Lock this thread immediately" got shut down. Plus I have single-handedly closed several threads.

I've noticed you seem to prefer the ones lying on the ground so I was only trying to help.
I was hoping to receive special insight when I reached 4,000 but it didn't happen. I'd also heard it meant entry into pro sporting events free of charge. I still think it does but those idiots at the gates act like they don't know what I'm talking about.
So I'm really looking forward to 4,500. I can't wait. I'd really love to find there's some sort of financial gain, but I'll settle for the kind of insight you're talking about.

Seriously? I think your post-4000 posts have been much better than your pre-4000 garbage. Don't get me wrong, they are still terrible, just much better.
As far as the financial gain aspect... It's more of a pyramid scheme to get money out of foreigners. Not sure you'd qualify.

Honestly, I just don't know where these post-4000 but pre-4500 posters get off. Trying to run before they learn how to walk. It's like everything in life. It requires patience. Just relax and wait for it to happen, and one day the secrets of the (GR) universe will suddenly be revealed to you.
P.S. I wonder what level of enlightenment 5,000 posts will bring?
P.P.S. Of course there exceptions to every rule, aren't there DM.

I'll take the complement from your first statement graciously simply to demonstrate the contrast in class between the two of us. You should be honored I considered you qualified for such a contrast, even though I really don't.
The pyramid scheme you refer to applies to most foreign investment in the ever declining U.S. economy, including dollars. I'm delighted not to participate. If however there's another currency involved, I'd like to see the prospectus. I have a straw domestic Sub S based in Cincinnati.

Damn, you are closing in fast on 5K. Just a couple rugby threadjacks away if my math is right.
Reflecting on your 5K, what percentage of those would you deem serious in nature or golf-related?

As certain GR members have graciously pointed out, I am one classy-assed mf'er.
Your hurtful comments are unprovoked, and a classy individual would immediately create an apology thread.

Hard to really put a number on it, but certainly less than 10%, probably less than 5%. Does this count as a serious post?

Shorting stuff's the best game in town right now.
In this age of green, I don't want to waste the electricity involved in creating a seperate apology thread, so instead I'll place my apology to you inside these brackets.

Apology accepted. Thanks for doing your part for the environment. NaH will be proud, assuming he falls in line ideologically with other vegan-hippies.

It was admittedly a very small apology by my standards, but it exceeds anything ever offered by my ex-wife to anyone.

You three need a room?
Pointing out post count as verification for experienced knowledge is a B!tchmove . . . .

You should realize that because of your paltry post count we ignore your flames.

Don't worry the rugby season is over (at least between OZ & NZ) so that will slow down NAH's progress somewhat.

I'm going to assume you are one of the short knocking codgers being discussed. If not I apologize. As us humans age, the brain become less willing to try new things and we become set in our ways. Elder gentleman such as yourself need to recognize this scientfic fact and strive to buck the trend. Give Purist's advice a shot. Who knows, you may pick up a few yards off the tee and be able to reach some of those 400 yard par fours in two.
Trying to help,
HB

Try using a stiffer shaft with a higher lofted head. TrackMan data has shown that many slower swingers have erratic swing speeds and release the club too early. If you can't get your hands ahead of the ball at impact with a decent amount of lag, then you're going to be spraying the ball all over the place. Try putting an x-flex in your driver, and use a higher lofted head to get an optimal launch. Some of you guys may find that you can hit a 16* x-flex driver farther than a 10.5* reg flex, and you won't be spraying the ball so much.
Your Welcome...

Thank you.
Getting back to your original post, i feel qualified to comment as I am old, 150 lbs, with a slow swing speed (92 to 95 mph with a 45' stiff shafted driver when last measured). In my case, three years ago I started using a x-stiff at 47" and a 9.5 degree club head which gives me optimum trajectory. This has been the best driver I have used at any time in my life (and I have tried dozens of every loft and flex), for accuracy, and, on a good swing day, distance. Your suggestion has merit.

You've got me all wrong. I like old people...I have 3 old farts in my regular golf group...and a manorexic shrimp about the size of Mike Weir.
