I don't think I would do it. Maybe for $5,000,000 but not for $1,000,000. Switching to left handed would basically make me worse than a beginner. I've tried swinging left handed and it's the same as trying to throw a football for me. It's like it's a brand new sport.

Absolutely. Make the mil in used tens, twenties, fifties and hundreds with non-sequential serial numbers. I can already putt as well left handed as I can right handed. My right eye is dominant and my right side is a good bit stronger than my left. I would probably get left handed Ping Eye 2's with those real light and flexible shafts and a Ping G5, G10 or Rapture 12 degree driver with offset and a regular flex shaft. With the extra cash, I would also get a UK spec stick shift sedan so that I would feel comfortable using my lower hand a bit more although since my left hand is my guitar-fretting hand, its pretty dexterous anyway. By the way if Obama wins another four years, do you think that the Government will pay for lessons and training for me to go over to the other side and live as a left-hander?

Sounds like a pretty fun challenge. In baseball, I always had more power swinging right handed, but more trouble picking the ball up at high speeds. Left handed, I could always see the ball and make contact.

I am a natural left hander who grew up golfing right handed. I wanted to improve my game with lessons and figured why not start off with a fresh piece of clay. I'm glad I did because most of my fundamentals are pretty solid. Now it's just a matter of working on tempo and putting in the time on the course.

You know, I've thought about it some more and I'd take the $1M. In about a year's time I bet I could be shooting under 85. I would take lessons to get all of the movements down and then hit balls like crazy.

It's a matter of odds, Kiwi. The odds against winning the lottery are astronomical, but when the purse becomes as large as the odds, it's at least a fair bet.
Let's say the odds of winning PowerBall in the US are 150,000,000 to 1. The prize actually gets up to $150,000,000 or more, so the one dollar bet to win it is now a fair bet despite the astronomical odds.
When the prize is "only," say, 5,000,000 dollars, it's really a sucker bet.

When I was very young and (under)employed at a private club that was almost entirely lunch/workday traffic. That mean lots of long evenings with almost nothing to do in a bar next to a games room that had 4 full size snooker tables. I was already a decent player, but I got much better while I worked there.
But the point is that I was teaching myself to use a cue left-handed it wasn't that hard. Sure: at first it felt awkward as hell, but as time went on, I realized that not only was it getting easier, but that I was actually using a more technically correct swing (arm hanging precisely vertically when the cue was in neutral) than I ever could playing right-handed; I didn't have years of playing with a stroke learned before I knew anything about how it was supposed to be done to undo.

Welcome to handball. the FIRST movement a beginner must learn is how to throw sidearm, underhand, and overhand with his other hand. Those who can't do that fairly well will see ONLY balls that force them to use that hand. So we all spent hours and hours practicing hitting balls with our "off" hand. Most used a mirror to study how our "on" hand does it, then tried to copy that. Just like in golf, we first do it in slow motion, then try to ingrain that motion. Really good players look ambidextrous. TOP players develop an OFF hand even better than their natural one.
Handball is MUCH more difficult than golf. Which probably accounts for its demise as a sport. Racquetball was too easy, and so it died out too. Tennis is struggling.

This is precisely why I decided to switch. I figured I could either go to a pro and drudge through all the poor mechanics I had engrained over the years swinging right handed, or just start fresh and learn things the correct way left handed. It's really not that hard, and the learning curve is quite steep.
When I started to get frustrated trying teach my kids the game I bought a left handed 8 iron to try and gain some perspective. It's not just the frustration of trying to learn an awkward movement but the embarrassment of shanking balls all over the place as well. Needless to say I gained a new appreciation for what beginners go through and have increased my patience level astronomically. I actually believe it is harder to switch hit than it is to start from scratch. At least as a beginner you have some idea how to swing a stick or a bat in your preferred direction.

I learned to play handball in New York In New York City, hardball was and is a Man's game. No boys need apply. In areas like the Bronx, time on the handball courts had to be earned. You stood in line and waited to play the winner. If you won a game, you held the court until you lost. The best players would hold the court for hours. The ethos was like that of the top gunfighters in the old west. The most difficult raquet game is squash raquests, the spiritual kin to handball. The New Yorker who taught me squash raquets also taught me handball. We played handball without gloves the way it was meant to be played.

I just noticed you are playing an FD putter? Did I send you a putter with the other stuff? I don't remember that. Also, did you install either of those shafts?
I don't know if I mentioned this but I found a bunch of thrown away clubs in the dumpster outside Golfmart. The only one I grabbed was a Taylormade Titanium 360 8.5 driver with R-80 bubble shaft. I tried hitting it on the range and it's not even comparable to the drivers they have out now. Not even close. Probably 20 yards shorter. I guess I'll be throwing it into another dumpster as I doubt I could sell it for more than $9.

Squash is a legitimate racquet sport, as is tennis. Racquetball is for f@ggots.
The ball you may have played was called the "black rock" and it was hard like a rock. Even now, nobody wants to play because of the bone bruises and injured hands; once you get past that (the hands get strong) the game is really fun.
Shucks I broke my finger a few months ago trying to scrape a ball off the sidewall...
One wall and three wall are played without gloves, but with the hard ball, thin leather gloves are used in four wall.
